Chelsea registered four goals against struggling Vincent Kompany’s Burnley to secure all three points at Turf Moor.

It has been a disappointing campaign for the home team so far this season as Vincent Kompany’s men have managed to gather just four points in their last 7 matches.

Chelsea have experienced a similar situation since the beginning of the new season, which saw them secured just 8 points in their last seven outings.

Both struggling teams locked horns against each other on Saturday, 7th of October, as the match ended in a 4-1 scoreline with Cole Palmer, Raheem Sterling, Nicolas Jackson, and Wilson Odobert all appearing on the scoresheet.

Chelsea made just one change to the squad that won against Fulham during their last Premier League game, Raheem Sterling was used to replace Mykhailo Mudryk, who was rested after a long effort in his last performance.

Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo were paired with Conor Gallagher in the middle, and Armando Broja was surprisingly included in the starting lineup, leading the attack ahead of Nicolas Jackson who was rested on the bench.

Robert Sanchez kept his place in the goalpost, Levi Colwill, and Marc Cucurella were played in full-back paired with Axel Disasi and Thiago Silva.

Vincent Kompany’s side made four changes as Vitinho, Hannes Delcroix, Mike Tresor, and Wilson Odobert, all used to replace Luca Koleosho, Zeki Amdouni, Jordan Beyer, and Connor Roberts.

Burnley Starting lineup; Trafford, Vitinho, Al Dakhil, Delcroix, Taylor, Berge, Cullen, Brownhill, Odobert, Foster, and Ndayishimiye.

Chelsea Starting lineup; Sanchez, Cucurella, Disasi, Thiago Silva, Colwill, Gallagher, Caicedo, Fernandez, Palmer, Broja, Sterling.

The match got underway at exactly 3:00 p.m. as Armando Broja made the kickoff pass of the game for Chelsea.

Raheem Sterling was brought down and the visitors had the first corner of the game in the 10th minute of play.

Cole Palmer was seen in a free role position in the Chelsea team. He changed the ball over the right and found Sterling who had a fine first touch. He played past Vitinho but Tresor was there to make a good block and won possession in the 15th minute.

Burney broke the deadlock some minutes later through Odobert’s fine finish, after hitting a strong ball past Sanchez and handed the home team the lead.

Marc Cucurella was having a tough time on the defense with Odobert making fun of him as Chelsea continued to lose control and found it difficult to keep possession.

Cucurella picked up the first booking of the game due to the pressure on Chelsea. The Spaniard was struggling in the first half.

Enzo Fernandez was shown a yellow in the 29th minute for getting lippy with the match official.

Chelsea looked for a breakthrough with Sterling dribbling past two Burnley defenders. He found space for a shot and Trafford was in the right position to make a save.

The Blues’ breakthrough came just before the half-time break after Al Dakhil deflected a cross from Sterling into his own net.

The second half got underway after a short halftime break. Chelsea made a quick change with Nicolas Jackson coming on to replace Broja

In the 50th minute, the visitors had another chance when Sterling was brought down in the penalty area. The referee called for VAR before he awarded the spot kick.

Cole Palmer stepped up and made a cool finish past Burnley’s goalkeeper to put the Blues ahead.

Vincent Kompany made several changes in the 60th minute as Mike Ndayishimiye was subbed off for Warrick Koleosho

Sterling found the back of the net in the 65th minute of play.
