Erik ten Hag was pleased with Manchester United’s 1-0 win over Burnley on September 24, 2023.
He praised his team’s spirit and determination, and said that the victory will give them confidence going forward.
“I am very happy with the win,” Ten Hag said in his post-match press conference. “It was a difficult game, but we showed great spirit and determination. We defended well as a team and took our chance when it came.
“I am particularly pleased with the way we played in the second half. We controlled the game and created a number of chances. We could have scored more goals, but I am happy with the overall performance.
“This win will give us confidence going forward. We know that we have a lot of hard work ahead of us, but we are moving in the right direction.”
Ten Hag also praised Bruno Fernandes for his winning goal. Fernandes scored a stunning volley in the first half to give United the lead.
“Bruno’s goal was a world-class finish,” Ten Hag said. “He is a very talented player and I am happy that he is playing well for us.
“Bruno is a leader on and off the pitch. He is a very important player for us.”
