Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag has revealed that he has no regrets about not signing Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane ahead of the Champions League clash between both teams.

In the press conference ahead of the encounter, the former Ajax manager was prepared to answer any question relating to his football club and Harry Kane.

The Dutch manager was in support of his decision to go for former Atalanta Striker Rasmus Hojlund instead of 30-year-old Harry Kane.

Erik Ten Hag said, “We are happy with Rasmus. In his first game, he was injured.

“He played against Arsenal; he had a start against Brighton, and now we have to integrate him into the team. Rasmus is such a big talent.”

Harry Kane had his heart glued to Manchester United, but he couldn’t make the move to the club due to the inability of Manchester United CEO Richard Arnold to test Tottenham CEO Daniel Levy.

It was reported that Manchester United did not bother to send any bid to Tottenham because they were informed of the fact that the London club was not ready to sell him to another Premier League club.

Harry Kane was ready to become a free agent in a bid to force a move to Manchester United, but there was no assurance the Red Devils would give him an opportunity to move to the club.

However, Manchester United will be going into the game against Bayern with 12 first-team players out.

The Red Devils, who lost three matches out of their first five in the Premier League, will be traveling to Munich with a 21-man squad that includes four different goalkeepers.

Harry Maguire could not make it to the 21-man traveling squad due to the injury suffered at Carrington Stadium on September 19, 2023.

In addition, Erik Ten Hag wants his team to show a sign of improvement by going into the biggest tournament in Europe.

Erik Ten Hag needs to either win the match against Bayern Munich or secure a point against the Bundesliga giant.

There are rumors that the Erik Ten Hag job is under scrutiny due to the poor results, which are making the club stay in the bottom half of the Premier League table.

Also, Erik Ten Hag is losing the dressing room, and a win is the only thing that can bring back the togetherness in the squad.

It was revealed that Bayern Munich had won their opening match in the Champions League for the last 19 years with an aggregate score of 47-2.

The last football club to avoid defeat at the Allianz Arena was Erik Ten Hag’s Ajax. The match was on October 2, 2018, and the game ended in a 1-1 draw.
