Union Berlin Defender Leonardo Bonucci has launched a legal action against his former club Juventus.

It was revealed that Leonardo Bonucci’s lawyer proceeded with the case on September 12, 2023.

The Italian defender is suing the Old Lady for damages due to inadequate training facilities and preparation conditions available for him.

It was reported that the club didn’t provide Bonucci with an access to the gym, pool, and other training facilities in Continassa, Turin.

Due to Juventus negligence on those allegations, Bonucci suffered professional and image damages, which made it difficult for him to prepare for this season.

The defender sees the legal action as a fact of legitimate principle, not personal beef between him and the club.

He called out players who are currently dealing with the current state of Juventus training facilities without being vocal about it.

In addition, it was revealed that Leonardo Bonucci will donate any amount he receives from the case to Neuroland.

Neuroland is an association that supports the families of the children hospitalized at the Regina Margherita Hospital in Turin.

The Italian midfielder spent the majority of his career with the old lady. He had two spells at the club; the first one was between 2010 and 2017, and his second was in 2018, and it ended in 2023.

Juventus ended Bonucci’s second spell after it was revealed that the club manager, Massimiliano Allegri, does not want the 36-year-old defender at the club.

The club board of directors decided to terminate his contract. He was stripped of his captaincy and was not allowed to train with his teammates.

The Italians won 17 major titles at the club and played an important role in making sure Italy won Euros 2020 under the current Saudi Arabia manager, Roberto Mancini.

His retirement has been long over due with managers now preferring to get the energetic youngsters who can help them win titles.

His playing time at the Italian national team has been reduced so there is no need for him to spend majority of his time on the bench.

When he retires, Leonardo Bonucci is likely to spend more time with his family and his sick second son, Matteo Bonucci.
