Arsenal’s injury crisis has deepened as top midfielder Thomas Partey joins the sidelines with a harmstring issue.

Thomas Partey is set to miss months of action following the injury blow that has deepened Arsenal’s injury crisis.

As of the time of filing this report, Arsenal are yet to confirm Partey’s injury blow but the news was relayed by Ghana Football Association, who released a statement explaining the omission of the player from Ghana AFCON qualifiers squad against Central African Republic.

Ghana national team statement confirming Thomas Partey’s injury blow said Partey will miss action for club and country for a while as he is set for a spell on the sidelines.

Partey, who starred in Arsenal’s title-challenging campaign last season, was set to make Ghana’s AFCON Qualifiers squad for the game against Central African Republic but has now been left out of the squad.

He reportedly picked up the injury in Arsenal’s training ahead of the crunch Premier League tie against Manchester United. A definite timeline for his return to action has not been confirmed but reports say he could be out of action for as long as three months.

Thomas Partey’s injury will come as major blow to Arsenal who are already sweating with the injury of Gabriel Jesus, Mohamed Elneny, and new signing Jurrien Timber.

Gabriel Jesus missed Arsenal’s Emirates Cup win over Monaco due to injury with Mikel Arteta later confirming the Brazil international is battling with a niggling knee issue and will be sidelined for “a few weeks.”

Arteta confirmed Gabriel Jesus’ injury stem from the devastating knee injury he picked up in 2022 World Cup with Brazil national team.

He has undergone surgery and is undergoing rehabilitation for full recovery before his return to action.

Also on Arsenal injury list is Mohamed Elneny. Elneny has been sidelined since last season due to a harmstring issue and is yet to recover and return to action with the Gunners. He has missed 26 matches.

Arsenal’s £38m signing from Ajax this summer, Jurrien Timber, is also on the sidelines after picking up a cruciate ligament injury on his Premier League debut against Nottingham Forest.

Timber is also set for months on the sidelines following the injury. He has undergone surgery and is on rehabilitation for full recovery.

Partey joins Arsenal piling injury list as the fourth player on the sidelines. He has made 103 appearances for Arsenal since joining the club from Atletico Madrid in 2020.

Partey made Arsenal’s lineup in all three opening Premier League fixtures this season and was set to be a key player now playing as a right back in Arteta’s new Arsenal system before the injury blow.

Partey was linked to Arsenal exit alongside former captain Granit Xhaka after Mikel Arteta completed deals for Declan Rice and Kai Havertz but the Ghana international has now taken up the right-back role to cement his place in the squad amid the midfield reshuffle.

Partey scored 2 goals in 40 appearances for Arsenal last season and has helped the team maintain an unbeaten start to the current campaign.
