Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho has revealed that Paris Saint-Germain forward, Kylian Mbappe told him that he will go far in his game.

Sancho has become Manchester United’s number one target after another successful season with the BVB. The Red Devils wanted to bring the Englishman back home and the Black-Yellow will want at least 100 million pounds for him.

PSG had knocked out the Bundesliga runners-up in the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League, which fellow German side, Bayern Munich won yesterday. Coincidentally, PSG lost 1-0 to Bayern courtesy of Kingsley Coman’s 59th-minute strike. PSG during the round of 16 overturned a 2-1 deficit by winning 2-0 at home and progressed to the quarter-finals.

According to Sancho, he met the Frenchman after the game and the world cup winner told him he will go far in his career.

“I spoke to him after the game. We had a little conversation after the game, he said to me ‘you’re doing really well, keep it up and you’ll get far’. It was nice to have that conversation with him.

“He’s done a lot when you consider his age. He’s won the World Cup, he’s won the league with PSG and Monaco and so you have to respect him in so many ways. He kind of carried France in the World Cup, which was crazy. Seeing someone that young doing great things like that, it motivates me and was crazy to see,” Sancho told SoccerBible, following the release of his signature collection with Nike.

Jadon Sancho is also a fan of Cristiano Ronaldo

Sancho got himself into the history book of Bundesliga as he became the youngest English goalscorer in the league (18 years, 27 days) in April 2018.

Since then, he has grown from strength to strength, drawing the attention of top clubs. Speaking further, the English lad expressed his admiration for five times world footballer of the year, Cristiano Ronaldo. He also highlighted the similarities between his own and Ronaldo’s career path.

Sancho was only 17 when he left Manchester City’s youth system for Dortmund, while Ronaldo started out in Portugal with Sporting Lisbon, before making a move to Manchester United as an 18-year-old.

“He’s had a fantastic career. He had to grow up fast, just like me. The way he left his home at a young age, and couldn’t speak English at the time: he adapted so fast – and see where he is now, one of the best players who has ever lived. So to be alongside these people, hopefully, I can have a great career like Ronaldo,” he added.

Sancho has proven to be a good player on the right path in his two-and-a-half seasons with Dortmund. The England international has scored 30 goals and made 34 assists in 78 Bundesliga games. He has also recorded four goals and five assists in cup competition, whilst earning a DFL Supercup winner’s medal and 11 senior England caps.

He has been fully involved in the successive runners-up finishes in his first two full campaigns of Bundesliga football. He is now hoping to go one better with BVB in 2020/21.

“I’m focused on training and getting better each day. I want to achieve something big!”

Sancho is on the verge of making his 100th competitive appearance for the Black-Yellows when they face third-tier Duisburg in the DFB Cup first round on 14 September. He still has a contract with Dortmund until summer 2023
