A clinical semifinal display against tournament co-hosts Australia saw the European giants cruised into the final of the tournament with an emphatic 3-1 win.

The Lionesses muffled the roaring home fans on the stands, stamping their dominance throughout the game to clinch a deserved victory.

Ella Toone stole the spotlight after she catapulted England into the lead in the first half with an incredible strike which flew into the top corner.

The goal saw the European champions mantained a narrow 1-0 lead into the first half break while still controlling proceedings.

In the second half, Australia shocked the Lionesses with a stunning goal by Sam Kerr.

Kerr beat England goalkeeper Mary Earps with a fiery 25-yards stunner that draw the game level. It was a brilliant effort by the Australians but England were back again into the lead when a defensive blunder saw Lauren Hemp score to put the Lionesses in control again.

Australia’s comeback hopes was effectively obliterated late in the game when Alessio Russio extended the lead with a late goal.

The reigning European champions ran out with a 3-1 win to set up a 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup final clash against Spain in Australia’s capital Sydney.

England FA will reportedly cash out heavily if England beat Spain to win the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

The Mail reports Nike, who are the suppliers of England Women’s national team kit, have a long-standing agreement with the English FA for payment bonuses amounting to £1m depending on how the England women’s national team perform during tournaments and the revenue generated from shirt sales.

The FA reportedly entered into the said agreement with Nike in 2016. Due to the agreement, England women’s national team were assigned their own shirt exclusively supplied and produced by Nike, marking a departure from a previous kit arrangement for the women national team in which the Lionesses donned the same kit for men’s national team.

The new kit arrangement gave the Lionesses some level of autonomy over revenues accruing to the sale of the shirts.

Pertinent to note, the bonus payment will be made to the English FA. However, the Lionesses will also be beneficiaries but the amount that will be dolled out to the players is yet to be agreed.
