Freddie Ljungberg has informed Arsenal that he is leaving and his departure will effective with immediate. Ljungberg took over as Arsenal head coach briefly after Arsenal fired Unai Emery and he did an ok job.
He managed 6 matches as Arsenal’s temporary head coach; won one game, drew 3, and lost 2 matches before Arsenal brought in Mikel Arteta from Manchester City to be the permanent head coach.
Mikel went on to win the FA Cup in this first year as Arsenal coach and this means that Arteta will be at Arsenal for a foreseeable future. As a result, when Freddie was approached with a coaching opportunity from a soon to be disclosed club and he took the job. He is expected to announce his new job very soon.

Is Freddie Ljungberg still at Arsenal?
As a former player for Arsenal, he’s well-liked by the players and the fans, unfortunately, his time at the Emirates stadium is over and he will be moving on to pursue other opportunities. He played as a winger for Arsenal during his time as a player, he came back to the club in 2018 after spending two seasons as assistant manager of Wolfsburg.
Ljungberg confirmed his departure with this message “I have decided to leave my first team assistant coaching role at @arsenal to progress my management experience. I have been involved with this club on and off since 1998 and am grateful for all the opportunities they have given me both as a player and as a coach.
