    • The ESPN has announced its Bundesliga streaming and TV plans for the 2020/21 season.

    When does the Bundesliga season for the 2020/2021 starts?

    The Bundesliga League is scheduled to start on September 18, 2020. This is Bundesliga’s 58th season and ESPN+ will be showing the live coverage in the U.S.

    The League content will appear across ESPN media platforms. According to reports, ESPN+ will be streaming over 300 Bundesliga matches in English and Spanish. This is the beginning of the German top-division league’s multi-year agreement with the platform.

    ESPN, ESPN Deportes, and ESPN2, which is the company’s linear television platforms will also feature selected matches during the season.

    What to expect from Bundesliga 2020-21 season

    The channels will be showing Bundesliga content and stories about players, teams, 2019-20 season highlights, and fan culture. The company’s English and Spanish studio programming includes SportsCenter, soccer-endemic shows ESPN FC, Jorge Ramos y Su Banda, Ahora o Nunca, Fuera de Juego, and a host of others.

    The coverage of the league will begin with ESPN FC Special: Top 50 Goals of 2019-20 Season on Thursday, August 20. In anticipation of the upcoming season, host Dan Thomas and analyst Alejandro Moreno will kick-start the programme with a recap of the greatest goals from the past year.

    Meanwhile, ESPN FC’s studio special, “Top 50 Goals of 2019-20 Season” will also be available on ESPN+ on Friday.

    Additional content includes interviews with players and managers, training camp reports, features, and more. The aforementioned will be the top agenda of the show’s daily Bundesliga segments during the week leading up to the start of the season.

    ESPN flagship show, SportsCenter will be aired on Sunday, August 30. It will feature the profile of American player Gio Reyna. The 17-year-old American star is becoming an important player at Borussia Dortmund.

    There will be also interviews with U.S. Men’s National Team manager Gregg Berhalter, Dortmund’s sporting director Michael Zorc, and youth academy director Lars Ricken, Gio’s parents, Daniele and Claudio Reyna.

    Reyna, who joined Dortmund in 2019 after four years with his hometown academy team New York City FC became the youngest American to play in the Bundesliga in January 2020. He made his debut as a substitute against FC Augsburg on January 18.

    Meanwhile, comprehensive Spanish-language coverage of Bundesliga leading up to the start of the season across SportsCenter will be on ESPN Deportes while European soccer show Fuera de Juego will do a preview of the 2020-2021 season. It will be aired as a special edition streaming live on Thursday, Sept. 17, at 7:30 p.m. ET, on ESPN+. The exclusive news and analysis of the league games will be done by show hosts Fernando Palomo, Andrés Agulla, Barack Fever, Ricardo Ortiz, Alexis Martín Tamayo (Mister Chip) and Ricardo Puig.

    The first batch of 10 classic Bundesliga matches that will be available on-demand streaming on ESPN+ includes that of Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Bayer Leverkusen, and other top clubs.
