2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup: Colombia V South Korea

In the first game at the Sydney Football stadium for matchday 5, Colombia came out victorious over the South koreans at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

A remarkable day for the Philippines saw them produce a shocker by defeating co-host New Zealand in their second game at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Sarina Bolden netted the decisive goal in the encounter via a well directed header in the 24th minute.

That goal was the Filipinas first goal at the tournament and their first win ever at the FIFA World Cup.

Definitely, there will be a lot of happy faces all across the Philippines, seeing the feat they just hit.

Stunning the co-host in their 2nd game of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, having lost their opening game to Switzerland by 2-0 is something they can be proud of.

The Philippines became the first of eight debutants to score and win at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

One yellow card was shown to either side respectively, with Hannah Wilkinson getting booked on the 42nd minute and Angela Beard of Philippine getting one in the second half.

Switzerland V Norway

The final game of the day couldn’t produce a goal as both sides shared the spoils in an eagerly contested affair.

Coach Hege Riise would be doing everything she can to ensure that the Grasshoppers sneak out of the group to the next round.

No yellow card or red card was brandished in the encounter throughout the entire 90 minutes of action.

The tournament continues to heat up as teams continue to fight for points which will ensure their qualification to the next round.
