As Saudi Arabian clubs continue their radical approach at developing the Saudi Pro League, it appears they are now at Craven Cottage where Fulham boss Marco Silva has established that he received an offer from Al Ahli.
However, Silva has maintained that he is utterly committed to the Cottagers despite the enticing offer he has received.
Al Ahli are also edging closer to completing deals for Manchester City’s Riyad Mahrez and Newcastle United’s Allan Saint-Maximin.
The Saudi second tier champions have already acquired Edouard Mendy and Roberto Firmino from the Premier League this summer and they are looking at making more needed reinforcements.
Al Ahli reportedly wanted a quick answer from the camp of Marco Silva as they are currently involved in a preseason training in Austria.
Marco Silva revealed he has received an offer from Saudi Arabia
In an interview prior to Sunday’s Premier League Summer Series encounter against Brentford, Marco Silva revealed he had informed Fulham of his line of action.
However, the Portuguese did not divulge any information about the decision he has taken, as he expressed bluntly that he answered for Fulham and he “will not talk about this situation”.
In what many might term to be a harsh response, the former Everton manager stated emphatically that he didn’t come to the presser to discuss his future.
He said: “I didn’t come here to talk about offers and the situation.”
Marco Silva reiterated that he is totally committed to Fulham amid the interest from the Saudi Pro League.
Silva said: “I told you before and I’ll repeat again, I don’t need to say many words here.
“I’ve showed my commitment to this football club. My commitment to the football club is total.”
Additionally, the 46-year-old spoke about Serbian forward Aleksander Mitrovic, who has told relatives that he will not ply his trade with Fulham again.
Reports indicate that Mitrovic’s outburst is due to the Cottagers slamming a hefty £52 million price tag on him.
The 28-year-old is seemingly infuriated at being priced out of a possible move, having seen Fulham reject two offers from Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal.
Marco Silva on Aleksander Mitrovic and Fulham
Marco Silva shed more light on the situation involving Aleksander Mitrovic and Fulham, indicating that the Serbian is “not working properly with his teammates”.
He said on Saturday: “As you know, he’s not going to play tomorrow, he didn’t play last Wednesday, he’s not working properly with his team-mates and when I say this is not the ideal scenario, this is the situation.”
Mitrovic scored 15 goals and provided 4 assists in 28 appearances for Fulham last term despite a stint in the treatment room due to injury.
The Serbia International helped the Cottagers to a 10th place finish in the Premier League last term.
Marco Silva shared that he has spoken with Aleksander Mitrovic and he has offered his opinion to the striker.
However, he said that there are sometimes individualistic decisions that are to be taken by the players.
The ex-Watford manager stated: “I have spoken with Mitro already, he knows my opinion.
“I’m here to give my best for all my players, to protect them in everything that I can. Sometimes you have individual decisions that is for them to take care of.”
Mitrovic has 111 goals and provided 22 assists in 205 appearances for Fulham, since joining the club on the 30th of July, 2018.
