MLS side Inter Miami have confirmed the signing of Spanish defender and Barcelona legend Jordi Alba.
The Spanish legendary left back signs for Inter Miami on a one-year contract with an option of a one-year extension till 2025.
Regarded as one of the best and experienced right backs in Spanish football, Alba will be expected to bring his experience as he joins Inter Miami project in the MLS.

After Inter Miami announced Lionel Messi’s signing, before the unveiling ceremony at the DRV PNK Stadium, David Beckham reiterated his promise to Inter Miami and MLS to bring the best players to the club and the league.
Jordi Alba is the third former Barcelona player with a legendary career and trophy shelf that has joined Inter Miami this summer. Alba will reunite with Lionel Messi and Sergio Busquets – all Barcelona legends.
Sergio Busquets spent 15 years at Barcelona after breaking into the club’s first team in 2008, the same Pep Guardiola transitioned from Barcelona B to first team manager at the club and led the club to their historic treble.
Busquets made 722 appearances for Barcelona, scoring 18 goals with 45 assists.
Despite leaving the club in 2021, Lionel Messi spent the most number of years at Barcelona than Busquets and Jordi Alba. Messi broke into Barcelona first team in 2004, spending 17 years at Barcelona before leaving the club to PSG in 2021.
Lionel Messi made 778 appearances for Barcelona, scoring 672 goals with 303 assists.
Jordi Alba has spent 11 years at Barcelona, making 459 appearances for the club with 27 goals and 99 assists.
All three players have won all major trophies at Barcelona from La Liga, Copa Del Rey, Supercopa de Espana, UEFA Super Cup, Champions League, and FIFA Club World Cup.
Lionel Messi is joining Inter Miami on a two-and-a-half-year contract while Sergio Busquets signs through 2025.

Jordi Alba’s Inter Miami contract will run through 2024 with an option of a one-year extension till 2025. Playing as a leftback, the Spaniard will be expected to bring his experience to bear as he opens a new chapter in his career with the MLS side.
While Lionel Messi and Sergio Busquets are expected to make their Inter Miami debut on Friday, 21st July, Jordi Alba will make his debut for the club on Tuesday 25th July.
The trio will not only reunite at Inter Miami but will come under the tutelage of their former manager at Barcelona, Gerardo Martino who succeeded Phil Neville as Inter Miami this summer.
Alba, Messi, and Busquets all played for Barcelona when Gerardo Martino was the club’s manager from 2013 to 2014.
