Girona have officially announced the signing of Pablo Torre from their Catalan rivals, Barcelona, for the upcoming 2023-24 season.
According to reports, FC Barcelona and Girona FC have reached an agreement for the loan acquisition of Pablo Torre until 30 June 2024.
Pablo Torre, who arrived from Racing Santander in the summer of 2023, is widely regarded as one of Spain’s most promising midfield talents.
Torre joined the Blaugrana last summer after playing for Racing Santander, but he struggled to get enough playing time under Xavi Hernandez.
After participating in only 13 matches during the 2022/23 season, it became evident that the young player required a loan move this summer to further his development.
And considering the fierce competition for midfield positions in Barca, it was a wise move for the 20-year-old midfield prodigy as he will likely get ample playing time at Montilivi.
Meanwhile, several clubs, including Villarreal, Real Betis, and Valencia, have expressed interest in signing Torre.
However, it has been confirmed that the 20-year-old will be playing for Girona in the upcoming season.
Girona will no doubt benefit from this signing, as the fans believe Torre will thrive at the club.
Torre has officially joined Girona as their sixth signing of the summer, following the acquisition of Paulo Gazzaniga, Daley Blind, Savio Moreira, Yangel Herrera, and Yan Couto.
Girona reportedly made these impressive recruitment moves with the hope to achieve a better campaign than in 2022-23.
However, It should be noted that Torre’s signing is a dry loan and does not include any permanent purchase option.
Additionally, there have been reports stating that Barcelona will continue to cover one-third of Torre’s wages for the upcoming season, while Girona will be responsible for the remaining amount.
