Following his official arrival to the theater of dreams, Mason Mount claimed that Erik Ten Hag’s Manchester United master plan convinced him to leave Chelsea for the Old Trafford club.
The English midfielder is Erik Ten Hag’s first signing this summer and he joins the club in a deal worth an estimated £60 million.
Mason Mount has put pen-to-paper on a five-year deal with the option for an additional year.
Speaking after his arrival, the 24-year-old said that following conversations with Ten Hag, he couldn’t be more “excited” for the coming years.
He said: “Having met with the manager, and discussed his plans, I couldn’t be more excited for the seasons ahead.”

Mason Mount acknowledged that as he said: “It’s never easy leaving the club where you grew up, but Manchester United will provide an exciting new challenge for the next phase of my career.”

The former derby county man admitted that the club has grown immensely, saying Manchester United “has made big step forward under Erik Ten Hag”.
Mason Mount is a priority acquisition for Ten Hag as the Dutchman believes highly in his abilities.
The 3-time UEFA Champions League winners will be competing on all fronts next season and they need to bolster their squad for the new season.
Even though his exit from Stamford Bridge wasn’t received in the best of ways by Chelsea supporters, many certainly know that he passionately played for the Blues badge.
Mount made 195 appearances for Chelsea, scoring 33 goals and providing 37 assists in all competitions.

The 24-year-old also stated that he knows “how strong” the Red Devils are and he can’t wait any longer to be part of the team.
He stated: “Having competed against them, I know just how strong a squad it is that I’m joining, and I can’t wait to be part of this group’s drive to win major trophies.”
Mason Mount will carry a huge responsibility on his shoulders representing a club as huge as Manchester United and wearing the iconic number 7 shirt.
Will he be able to match the heights of legendary players like David Beckham and Cristiano Ronaldo, who donned the shirt in previous years?

Manchester United finished 3rd during the 2022/23 season, winning 23 games, losing 9 and drawing 6.
Amazingly, the club lost only one game in all the 38-game played at Old Trafford and it was at the commencement of the season.
They also made it to the final of the FA Cup, losing by a lone margin of 2-1 to Manchester City.
Despite losing the FA Cup final to Manchester City, one must note the impressive progress they have made under Erik Ten Hag.
Mount’s quick-thinking abilities and attacking prowess is believed to have been what caught the eye of Manchester United.
