Also, Klopp’s player at Liverpool, Trent Alexander-Arnold was awarded the Premier League‘s young player of the year. The 21-year-old England right-back was named the winner of the award on Friday. He contributed 13 assists and 4 goals in 38 Premier League matches to ensure that Liverpool became the champions of the Premier League for the first time in 30 years.
Why Jurgen Klopp deserves the award
In the just-concluded 2019-2020 Premier League season, no football manager totally outperformed Jurgen Klopp. The German tactician ensured that he built a ruthless team that took the entire league by storm.
As good as Liverpool was in the Premier League in the just-concluded season, the club won the league with 25 points and with 7 games left to play. This feat has never been achieved by any club or any football manager in the Premier League.
Jurgen Klopp was almost leading Liverpool to an invincible record until 29 February 2020 when relegated Watford stunned the club 3-0 to stop their unbeaten run with about 10 matches left to play before the end of the season.
At the end of the season, Liverpool dropped some points by losing two more matches to force the club to lose a total of three matches in 38 games. They won 32 matches and drew just 3 to become the champions of the Premier League with 99 points.
Jurgen Klopp’s individual honors

He won two Bundesliga titles, 2010β11 and 2011β12 season, with Borussia Dortmund and three other domestic titles with the club before he left them to join Liverpool in 2015.
In his five seasons at Liverpool, he has won the club’s first Premier League title; he has won one UEFA Champions League title, one UEFA Super Cup, and one FIFA Club World Cup for Liverpool.
On an individual level, the German tactician has been awarded the German Football Manager of the Year three times. He has won The Best FIFA Men’s coach once, Onze d’Or Coach of the Year, IFFHS World’s Best Club Coach, World Soccer Awards World Manager of the Year, and a host of others.Β
