Real Madrid are reportedly willing to accept a €90m (£77m) offer from Premier League side Liverpool for Federico Valverde.
Liverpool have shown interest in signing the midfielder this summer as Jurgen Klopp looks to rebuild his team with the Red proposing an offer worth a club-record £77m.
Fede Valverde was recently named in La Liga team of the season after a career-best campaign last season saw him score 12 goals.
Jude Bellingham recently signed for the Spanish giants and they are looking to raise funds in order to sign PSG’s Kylian Mbappe.
On the other hand, Liverpool are looking to take advantage of the signing of Bellingham to seek the signature of the Uruguayan international.
Recent reports from the Spanish paper El Nacional claims that Real Madrid are ready to let go of the midfielder for a good amount.
Liverpool are not the only team in the race as Chelsea and Manchester United have also been linked with a move for Valverde.
The central midfielder has often been used in a wide-right role under Carlo Ancelotti and an exit to England could allow Valverde to feature in his preferred position on a more regular basis.
While speaking in an interview with Daily Mail, he said “Uruguayans tend to support the team that has a Uruguayan in it. At that moment, because Luis was at Liverpool, we supported Luis. “
“I wanted things to go well for him, I will always do that with a team that has a Uruguayan.”
Federico Valverde further added: “It happens with [Edinson] Cavani at Manchester United now too.
“I want United to win and for him to score goals. That year pretty much the whole country supported Liverpool”.
If Real Madrid let him go, it would be a big surprise as his current contract will expire at the end of the 2026-27 season.
Jurgen Klopp’s side, though, could make a massive signing if they indeed manage to secure Valverde’s signature.
