Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez seems to be backing Sheikh Jassim to take over Manchester United with his latest comments.

Xavi Hernandez seems to be choosing Sheikh Jassim over Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

Xavi Hernandez spoke about Sheikh Jassim in February 22, 2023, when Barcelona met Manchester United in the Europa League.

Xavi Hernandez said, “I have a good relationship with the person interested in buying the club; he’s a serious person, and I’m sure he’d do a good job,” Xavi Hernandez said the statement when he was pressed for comment on the Qatari banker.

I know him so well. I think he’s a very good person with responsibility, serious. I think it would be a very good option for United.”

The Old Trafford takeover saga is gradually coming to an end, with reports emerging earlier this week that Sheikh Jassim’s bid to purchase Manchester United has been accepted by the Glazers family.

However, these claims were said to be premature, with the Glazers family not ready to name their preferred bidders very early.

Since the Glazers family came up with the idea of selling the club in November 2022, there have been five rounds of bids and multiple deadlines.

Sheikh Jassim had set his own deadline, and it has already passed. The former Prime Minister of Qatar has walked away from the negotiations, but the offer remains.

Manchester United are facing difficulties in the transfer window due to the Glazers inability to name their successor.

Manchester United inability to get their target will affect the squad next season. Erik Ten Hag want to bring in new players and start preparing for the Pre Season that will start against Arsenal on July 17, 2023 in America.

The Manchester United manager had made it clear that they need to challenge for title and the only way they can do that is by investing in the squad.

The manager wants to win more Silverware next season and wants at least two players in each position.

One of the reasons why Manchester United lost the Europa League and the Premier League title was because of fatigue and a tiny squad.

Manchester United Transfer News

Manchester United pulled out of the possibility of signing Harry Kane because Tottenham owner Daniel Levy doesn’t seem to be ready to negotiate with any team.

The Red Devils are also planning on the second bid for Mason Mount but they are not ready to meet Chelsea valuation of €80 million.

Manchester United who are in need of a striker are ready to bid for Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund. The Norway striker is valued at £50 million.
