Manchester City raked in a staggering inflow of money for winning the treble in the 2022/23 season.

Based on reports from The Sun, the Citizens earned £285.1 million in prize money this campaign, a great amount for an amazing achievement.

Manchester City usurped Arsenal to win the English Premier League before defeating eternal rivals Manchester United to win the FA Cup.

They ended their season with a 1-0 win over Inter Milan at the Atatürk Olimpiyat Stadium in Istanbul, Turkey.

This excellent achievement led to Pep Guardiola’s side receiving £164 million for winning the top-flight division, £3.9 million for their FA Cup success and £117.2 million for becoming European champions.

Cumulatively, that amount equates to barely £15 million below £300 million.

With increase in earnings and noticable player departures in recent campaigns, Man City could use the earnings to launch an assault on big acquisitions in the transfer market.

However, due to recent successes, it is unlikely that Pep Guardiola would massively rejig his squad ahead of the new season.

However, he could make important signings aimed at providing depth to his already fiery squad.

Mateo Kovacic, Josko Gvardiol and Gabriel Veiga have all been linked with a move to the blue side of Manchester this summer.

And in like manner, several players could also be leaving the team for a fresh challenge elsewhere.

One player who could be leaving the team is IIkay Gundogan, the German’s future at the Etihad is uncertain amidst interest from Spanish giants FC Barcelona.

The former Borussia Dortmund midfielder’s contract is set to expire at the end of June and no agreement regarding a new deal has been announced.

Additionally, the future of Aymeric Laporte, Bernado Silva and Joao Cancelo still hangs in the balance as they could also exit the European champions this summer.

Manchester City’s glorious outing in the 2022/23 Champions League season appears to be the crowning moment for majority of the players.

Can Manchester City soldier on after their treble triumph?

It lives one to wonder how motivated they are for next season and if the law of diminishing return won’t set in.

Pep Guardiola also carved his name into history with the treble triumph as he became the first manager to claim two European trebles.

Manchester City have also done a three-peat of Premier League titles

Manchester City have won four of the last five Premier League titles and they achieved the three-peat with their Premier League triumph this season.

In a season with records smashed left and right both individually and collectively, the money earned is just an amazing icing on a well made cake.

It’s left to be seen if they can continue and progress in this remarkable stead as they could still end the year with 5 honours to their name, with the UEFA Super Cup and English Community Shield still left to play.

They have a date with Sevilla at the Georgios Karaiskakis Football Stadium for the UEFA Super Cup final slated for 16th of August.

On the 6th of August, Manchester City would play Arsenal in the Community Shield which is a curtain raiser of the 2023/24 Premier League season.
