Dele Alli have been blasted by his teammate Alex Iwobi saying he failed at Everton because he was a bad trainer and a joke.

Alli who is 27 years old, has been facing a downward trend in his career after reaching the top-level in his early career at Tottenham.

Dele Alli departed Tottenham in January 2022 and joined Everton before moving to join Besiktas on loan a year later.

Alex Iwobi speaking on Alii’s time on the FilthyFellas podcast said: “With him (Alli), he will say it himself, he isn’t a training player.”

“Unless it’s a match in training and then you see Dele perform.”

“When it comes to training matches, he is a joke. When it comes to drills – he tries, but because he’s slow with it.”

“When it comes to games, he will score and assist or something.”

“It was hard for him to play. If you’re not just doing it in training, and at the time, the manager needed reliable players.”

“He (Frank Lampard) couldn’t really put his trust in him. We all know Dele could have performed.”

These comments made by Iwobi is almost same with that of Jose Mourinho in Tottenham’s edition of Amazon’s All or Nothing series.

In the docuseries, Mourinho who was in charge of Spurs as at that time, called out Dele Alli in a team talk session and gave him a side talk.

Jose Mourinho said to Alli: “I understand already that you are a f***ing lazy guy in training.”

Dele Alli’s career has been on the downward trend in recent times after he was pictured being surrounded by gas canisters last month.

    What Happened To Dele Alli?

Bamidele Jermaine Alli is an English footballer who was born on 11 April 1996 and plays as an attacking midfielder for Premier League club Everton.

Alli was voted the PFA Young Player of the Year and made the PFA Team of the Year at his first two seasons at Tottenham.

He then moved to Everton in January 2022 and a year later joined Beşiktaş on loan from Goodison Park.

Dele Alli was one of the brightest players in European football under former manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Alli’s career seems to have been going down the drain ever since the moment Pochettino was fired as manager of Tottenham.

During the “Mauricio Era” Alli could never be wrong and was always a contender for ‘Goal of the Month’ with some awesome goals and was linked to some of the best clubs in Europe.

It looked like the Everton star had a good relationship with the Argentine and his departure might have been a sole reason for his drop in form.

Alli ended up moving to Everton for a fee of £40m with add-ons to see if he could give his career the major boost it now seemed to need.

Unfortunately, that did not happen and Everton immediately shipped him off to Turkish club Besiktas on loan.

    Alex Iwobi

Alexander Chuka Iwobi is a Nigerian footballer who was born on 3 May 1996 and plays as a midfielder for Premier League club Everton and the Nigeria national team.

Iwobi started his career at Arsenal, and made 149 appearances, bagging 15 goals, and winning the FA Cup in 2017, as well as scoring in the 2019 UEFA Europa League Final.

The Nigerian international moved to Everton for an initial £28 million transfer fee in August 2019 and played alongside Dele Alli.

Iwobi’s comments against Dele Alli is almost the same with Jose Mourinho’s comment, do you think they are both saying the truth about Alli, or just a wrong perception about the player?
