Carvajal received the first yellow card after a caution came in the 53rd minute for the tackle on Sociedad’s Mikel Oyarzabal.

The first booking meant that he was going to miss the next La Liga league match against Getafe which is to be played on 13th May.

He received the second yellow card just eight minutes later, when he went in hard with a tackle on Sociedad’s Aihen Muñoz.

Dani Carvajal shook his head as he was shown the red card as his teammate, Nacho, grabbed him and ushered him away before he got into more trouble.

Carvajal already responded to Pulido Santana, the referee of the match, with some sarcastic applause and a gesture of ‘ok’ with a finger raised and saying “bravo”.

Immediately Carvajal entered the dressing room, he posted a smiley emoticon on his social media account.

Real Madrid lost to Real Sociedad at the Reale Arena with a two-goal defeat after they were already a goal down to loanee Take Kubo when the red card was shown.

Real Madrid are 14 points behind league leaders Barcelona and have lost the La Liga title to the Culers.

Madrid have eyes now on the Copa del Rey final and the Champions League semi.
