The 2022/23 English Premier League season has been enthralling, captivating, mind-blowing in addition to having lots of twists and turns.

Fairytale runs have been seen, unbeaten runs cut short and a possibility of a domineering grip on English football has taken the centre stage.

Just three teams have found their way to the summit of the English Premier League table for this campaign and they are Arsenal, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur.

Arsenal appear to have tailed off in recent weeks after spending the most time at the top of the table, closely followed by a team that seem to have English football in chokehold.

The third team, Tottenham Hotspur, have been poor this campaign and many wouldn’t have imagined that they were at some point at the top of the table.

From North London to Manchester, three teams have found their way to the top of the table at some point this season but as always only one winner would take home the Premier League crown.

Let’s dive right straight into the three teams that have stayed at the top of the log at a point this campaign including the days they spent there and their current spot.

The Gunners tutored by Mikel Arteta have spent the majority of the season at the summit of the English Premier League table, however, they have dropped in intensity and quality in recent weeks.

The Gunners have spent the most days at the summit of the Premier League table

Arsenal have spent more than half of a year at the top of the table with 247 days till they were usurped by Manchester City in the Citizens last victory against Fulham.

After scoring 78 goals and conceding 38 so far this campaign, it appears the Gunners don’t have much fuel to burn any longer as they currently occupy the second spot but you never can tell how things could end.

The Premier League offers dramatic actions and no one can be certain how the pendulum would swing in the remaining games of the season.

A side eyeing the three-peat of English Premier League titles and have been consistent since the turn of the new year currently occupy the top position on the league table.

City have been at the summit of the Premier League table for 17 days and they as earlier highlighted went back to the top following victory against Fulham on Sunday.

The team tutored by Pep Guardiola have got two games outstanding and they could further their points differential over 2nd place Arsenal after those fixtures have been played.

Tottenham Hotspur

Possibly shocking to many that Spurs have at a time this season been at the summit of the English Premier League table but before the club’s on-field issues, they spent 7 days at the top of the table.

A team has battled several problems this campaign which has led to the dismissal of Italian tactician Antonio Conte alongside his assistant Cristien Stellini who took over the club on an interim basis.

Tottenham Hotspur have been horrendous in 2023 and it even resulted in a heated criticism from former manager Conte on the club’s players and its hierarchy but they were for the space of a week at the top of the table.

Unfortunately, they are currently occupying the 6th spot on the league table with 54 points in 34 games, 9 points away from the top four.
