Bournemouth manager Gary O’Neil said his team took a huge step as Dango Ouattara scored a stoppage-time winner in a stunning finish at Tottenham.

Tottenham ace Son Heung-min opened the show in the match in the first half and the visitor levelled it after Matias Vina equalised in his first Premier League appearance for Bournemouth.

The visitors seemed to have taken all three points as Dominic Solanke put them in front in the early minutes of the second half but Arnault Danjuma came on to equalise for Tottenham against his former club.

Richarlison almost gave the home team the lead again but his header was wide and moments later Quattara scored a dramatic winner for the visitors.

The Cherries have now climbed out of the relegation zone with 6 points after this win and last week’s win over relegation rivals Leicester City.

Manager O’Neil whose team face relegation rivals West Ham United, Southampton and Leeds United confirmed that “To come here and win is one thing, to come here and be as dominant as we were is impressive.”

“We’ll enjoy this one but we try not to get too carried away. There’s a huge week coming next week as well so we’ll make sure the lads are ready.”

The match between Tottenham and Bournemouth was delayed for 15 minutes after the Cherries coach was stuck in traffic due to a crash but that did not deter the visitors as they took all three points.

January loanee from Roma equalized following a high press won them the ball from Spur’s half, this came after Son converted Ivan Perisic’s pass to give the host the lead.

Dominic Solake put the visitors ahead for the first time in the match after he scored his fifth goal of the season.

Danjuma fired into the bottom corner from the edge of the box to set up a rousing finale as Spurs pushed for a win which would’ve seen them on same points with Manchester United and Newcastle.

The last time Bournemouth were in North London, Arsenal won them in the dying minutes but Burkina Faso forward Ouattara fired home his first Premier League goal to ensure it was a triumphant return to north London.

Tottenham’s loss mean they remain in the fifth place in the Premier League as their owner Daniel Levy still searches for a new manager and have been linked to Burnley boss Vincent Kompany.

Tottenham may still qualify for next season’s Champions League as rivals Newcastle was dealt a blow by Aston Villa on Saturday.

Spurs looks to take advantage of this as their star player Son Heung-min has scored in back-to-back games for the first time since May 2022.

Tottenham’s interim manager confirmed last week that Spurs must approach their last eight matches of this campaign well if they want to ensure a top-four finish.
