Argentine great Lionel Messi ended his three Ligue 1 game goal drought and usurped Cristiano Ronaldo’s tally after he netted in the French top-flight away battle against OGC Nice. 

Messi scored in the 26th minute of the encounter to hand the Parisians the lead and the former Barcelona man has now netted 702 goals in Europe’s top five leagues, a goal more than Cristiano Ronaldo.

He reached the tally in 105 fewer games than Ronaldo

Messi is presently 35 while Ronaldo is 38. Both legends are still setting benchmarks with their performances in Europe and Asia respectively.

The former Barcelona man has netted 19 goals alongside providing 17 assists in 34 matches for PSG this term while Cristiano Ronaldo has scored 11 goals and made two assists for Al-Nassr since making his debut for the Saudi Pro League side in January.
