The Liverpool team bus was allegedly attacked by Manchester City fans following their defeat to the current champions of the English Premier League at Etihad Stadium.

When Jurgen Klopp’s team was traveling home after the disappointing defeat, the bus was vandalized despite the presence of top-class players.

The Manchester Police are currently investigating the case that saw a brick thrown and the window of the Liverpool bus cracked.

Manchester City have released a statement on the incident.

The English Champions stated it has come to their notice that Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp suffered an injury on his return to Merseyside following the defeat in Manchester.

The Football Club understands an object was thrown at the Liverpool manager. Incidents like that are unacceptable, and condemning the individual’s action was the best thing for the club.

They are also supporting the Manchester Police in the investigation to fish out the culprit, and a well-deserved punishment will be imposed on the individual.

Manchester City also slammed the fans for the inappropriate chants that were directed at the Liverpool fans in the away end. The chants were associated with Hillsborough, where 97 of Liverpool’s fans died as a result of Stampede.

The Premier League also offered a statement against the Manchester City fans’ chant, saying the league wanted to treat the chant as tragic and urgent.

Manchester City is working excessively with the supporters group and officials to curb hateful speech. However, Liverpool have failed to make a comment relating to the incident, but it may come sooner or later.

A similar case happened when Manchester City traveled to Liverpool on October 16, 2022. Manchester City’s bus was also attacked by Liverpool fans.

Guardiola claimed during his last trip to Anfield that the fans threw him a coin. Manchester United’s Erik Ten Hag called for the elimination of the “Tragedy” chant that will continue to hurt Liverpool fans.

It remains the worst tragedy incident in the history of UK football, with many claiming the Liverpool fans were unlawfully killed.

Liverpool

Liverpool was totally destroyed by Pep Guardiola’s men, who came back from a goal down to score four goals against the Reds on April 1, 2023.

Liverpool went ahead in the 17th minute through Mohamed Salah. Julian Alvarez equalized in the 27th minute of the match, with Guardiola doing a crazy celebration in front of the Liverpool players.

Kevin De Bruyne, Jack Grealish, and Ilkay Gundogan scored in the second half to give Manchester City hope of taking over Arsenal in the title race.

Liverpool

With more tough matches coming to the Klopp side, it will be difficult for them to clinch the top four spot.

What do you think about Manchester City fans’ actions? Should the English FA fine them or not?
