Nigerian International Alex Iwobi endured a wardrobe malfunction and it led to him coming off the pitch during the Toffees battle with Chelsea.

Iwobi had to exit the pitch to sort the issue out before coming back to assist Everton in securing a 2-2 draw against Chelsea.

The right boot of Alex Iwobi had a tear and he had to quickly fix the issue with his boot, his orange footwear “complemented” his pink socks.

Alex Iwobi’s boot issue didn’t affect Everton’s push for a good result in the game

The boot’s embarrassing tear didn’t have any disastrous effect in Everton’s push for a favorable result against Chelsea.

A finish from the front of the 18-yard box by Joao Felix put Chelsea ahead in the game before Abdoulaye Doucoure equalized in the 69th minute.

Kai Havertz scored a penalty in the 76th minute to take Chelsea ahead once again in the encounter before Ellis Simms scored in the 89th minute to salvage a draw for Everton in the game.

Some social media users bantered Alex Iwobi

And social media turned towards banter as a picture of Alex Iwobi’s orange boots gathered several comments online.

A fan posted: “The state of Alex Iwobi’s boot!”

Another fan stated: “He’ll get a refund surely” and a third debated: “Shows you how poorly the boots are made these days.”

Some other fans insinuated that Alex Iwobi was putting on the wrong size of footwear and another individual thought that it was probably because the Nigerian International was a superhero.

Although, it might not be like a good remark as it was probably intended to be when a supporter claimed that Iwobi “has a Hulk foot”.

The encounter involving Everton against Chelsea on Saturday was Alex Iwobi’s 250th appearance in the English Premier League.

And from reports gathered, the Everton attacker is still considering putting pen-to-paper on a new deal with the Merseyside based club.

It is understood that Iwobi intends to hold back till he gets a clear path and understanding on the fate of Everton for next season, if they would play in the Premier League or the Championship.

Alex Iwobi has been an important player in Everton’s push to avoid the drop and the Merseyside club are eager to extend his deal with the club after concluding agreements with England International Jordan Pickford.

The Nigerian has a year left on his current deal with the club and he is reportedly taking his time before deciding on his future for the team.

The Toffees completed the signing of Alex Iwobi from Arsenal in the summer of 2019 for £35 million and he penned a 5-year-deal with the Merseyside club.

He has made 128 appearances for Everton and netted 8 goals in the process.
