Gabriel Jesus has returned to Arsenal training after spending months on the sidelines following and excruciating World Cup injury.

Gabriel Jesus picked up a knee injury during the 2022 World Cup, forcing him to return to England immediately for treatment.

He last played for the Gunners in November, featuring in the team’s 2-0 win over Wolves in the Premier League before the World Cup.

Gabriel Jesus’ return will be a big boost to Arsenal’s Premier League title chase. Following the Brazilian’s injury blow, Mikel Arteta was forced to improvised, bringing in Eddie Nketiah to replace the Brazil international.

After a brilliant first few games for the Gunners, Nketiah slipped, forcing the Gunners to stumbled in some games which temporarily halted their race for the Premier League title.

Arsenal suffered back-to-back defeat against defending champions Manchester City in the FA Cup and the Premier League, including a shock defeat to Everton at Goodison Park. They also stumbled against Brentford.

The sharp and drastic decline in performance saw challengers Manchester City temporarily usurped the Premier League top spot for the first time, displacing the Gunners.

However, the Gunners returned to the top spot after surviving Aston Villa first-half scare to defeat the Unai Emery-led team 2-4 at Villa Park while Manchester City stumbled to Nottingham Forest, surrendering a narrow 1-0 lead to Forest at City Ground to settle for a 1-1 draw.

Now, the return of Gabriel Jesus will be a big leverage for Mikel Arteta as he hopes to land the Gunners’ first Premier League title since 2004/05 football season.

Gabriel Jesus posted a picture of himself returning to the Arsenal training on his social media handle to the excitement of millions of Gunners fan who had longed for the return of the midfield maestro after 12 weeks on the sidelines.

On Arsenal’s London Colney training ground, he dropped a footage of himself in top gear to return to Arsenal starting lineup. He wrote; “Step by Step. #Helomom#Gratitude.”

The post has garnered over 5million views and thousands of likes in just hours.

Despite his return to Arsenal’s training ground, Gabriel Jesus may not likely make his appearance for the Gunners in their next game against Everton on Wednesday.

Mikel Arteta will likely still stick to Jesus’ understudy Eddie Nketiah, who scored in his first two games for the club after replacing Gabriel, but has since failed to record another goal after he netted a late winner against Manchester City at the Emirates in the Premier League.

Speaking ahead of Arsenal’s clash against Everton in the midweek, Mikel Arteta said Gabriel Jesus needs time to return to his rhythm after returning from injury.

”He hasn’t trained much, he’s only had a session. He will train today so it is what it is. He was out for a few weeks and he needs to get the rhythm,” Arteta said.

The game against Everton will bring Arsenal to par with Manchester City on the number of Premier League games played. A win for the Gunners will see the club extend their lead on the Premier League table to 5 points.
