Following a bad run of league results, it was said last week that Conte’s future at the North London club is “increasingly questionable.” Only three of Spurs’ past nine Premier League games have ended in victories.

Rumors of a probable exit have only grown in recent days after their most recent 2-0 loss to Arsenal in the Sunday derby, a game that emphasized their lack of attacking power.

Although Spurs have the option to extend Conte’s contract by a further year at the end of the current campaign, he has not yet made a decision regarding his future with the club.

However, Sportsmail asserts that if the club and the coach “do not share the same vision for the club,” extending his contract would be “self-defeating.”

Who would then take the seasoned manager’s place now that his future is uncertain?

Thomas Tuchel, the former manager of Chelsea, might be interested in taking over at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium if Antonio Conte leaves, which may surprise many.

According to the Evening Standard, Tuchel would be “open to an offer” from Spurs, who are currently in fifth position.

Since being fired by Chelsea in September of last year as a result of their 1-0 loss to Dinamo Zagreb, the 49-year-old has been unemployed.

The German was fired, according to Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly, because they did not “share a vision” for the club’s future.

When speaking at the SALT Conference in New York in September, Boehly noted, “It wasn’t a decision that was made as a result of a single win or loss. It was really a decision about what we thought was the right vision for the club.”

After he was fired, Tuchel took a sabbatical from the game, but reports state that he is open to negotiations from prestigious clubs.

The 49-year-old former Borussia Dortmund manager is not currently in discussions with any suitors, but he is rumored to be studying a new language, which may indicate where he will end up.

In December, the German journal Sportbild said that Tuchel had “abandoned England as a residence,” and there were also rumors that he was taking Spanish classes in preparation for a possible transfer to La Liga.

Thomas Tuchel

Thomas Tuchel, a German professional football manager and former player, most recently oversaw Premier League team Chelsea. He was born on August 29, 1973.

Tuchel, a Krumbach native, started his coaching career in 2000 as a youth coach at VfB Stuttgart. After a year at FC Augsburg II, he was employed by Mainz 05 in 2009. Tuchel retired at age 25 due to a severe knee cartilage injury.

He left Mainz in 2014 and joined Borussia Dortmund, a fellow Bundesliga team, in 2015. While there, he won the DFB-Pokal until being fired in 2017.

Before being fired in 2020, he was hired by a French club, Paris Saint-Germain, where he won two league championships, including a domestic quadruple in his second season, and led the team to its first UEFA Champions League final.

Tuchel won the Champions League in his first season after being hired by Chelsea in 2021. He lost his managerial position in September 2022.

How did Tuchel react to Chelsea sacking?

Thomas Tuchel, the manager of Chelsea, reportedly had a fall-out with several of his players in the locker room and lost the confidence of the Blues board, this was disclosed earlier in September 2022.

Fans were in for a huge shock because Tuchel had developed a close relationship with Chelsea’s fans and had a successful track record with his team.

When Tuchel was in charge, Chelsea won their second Champions League championship and successfully defended their top four Premier League spot.

After Chelsea confirmed his dismissal, Tuchel posted a statement on Twitter outlining his thoughts on being fired.

His statement read, “This is one of the most difficult statements I have ever had to write – and it is one which I hoped I would not need to do for many years. I am devastated that my time at Chelsea has come to an end.

“This is a club where I felt at home, both professionally and personally. Thank you so much to all the staff, the players and the supporters for making me feel very welcome from the start.

“The pride and joy I felt at helping the team to win the Champions League and the Club World Cup will stay with me forever. I am honoured to have been a part of this club’s history and the memories of the last 19 months will always have a special place in my heart.

Following Thomas Tuchel’s departure, Chelsea hired English manager Graham Potter as the new Blues‘ manager, at a cost of over £20 million.
