A Sunday altercation at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium resulted in assault charges being brought against Joseph Watts, a 35-year-old from Hackney.

He is accused of hitting someone, entering a space next to a playing area, and hurling a projectile onto a football field, according to the police.

Both go against the 1991 Football (Offenses) Act.

On Friday, February 17, he is scheduled to appear in Highbury Magistrates’ Court.

The Football Investigations Team of The Met received assistance from Tottenham Hotspur Football Club during their inquiry.

When Ramsdale went to collect his gloves and bottle on Sunday, a Spurs fan is said to have kicked him.

Ramsdale allegedly received a boot in the back from a Tottenham supporter who leapt atop the advertising board to pick up his bottle.

Later, shocking video surfaced that appeared to show the Spurs supporter kicking Ramsdale before escaping through the crowd.

The English goalkeeper made seven saves during the game, tying a Premier League record that he has only surpassed once.

Particularly against Ryan Sessegnon and Heung Min-Son, as well as a few shots from Harry Kane, he made two outstanding stops.

In a statement, Tottenham stated: “We are appalled by the behaviour of a supporter that attempted to attack Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale at the end of today’s match. Violence in any form has no place in football.”

According to a Football Association statement: “We strongly condemn the incident involving a spectator that followed today’s Premier League fixture between Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal.

“This is wholly unacceptable behaviour and we will work together with the police, the relevant authorities and the clubs to ensure the appropriate action is taken.”

Antonio Conte, manager of Tottenham, also condemned the attack by the Spurs supporter.

‘I didn’t see it but before I was asked about it in an interview with the media. If it happened, this situation is not good. It’s not positive’, Conte said.

‘I think in every moment you have to show respect. If we want respect we have to show respect. Honestly I didn’t see it it, but if it happened this situation then for sure I didn’t like it.’

With their victory over Spurs, Arsenal improved to 15-2-1 for the year. With 47 points, the Gunners have complete control of the Premier League standings. With 39 points, Manchester City is in second place.

Tottenham, on the other hand, has 33 points and is now ranked fifth in the Premier League.
