In 2014, Turkish and Galatasaray forward Burak Yilmaz injured Ramires on the face consigning the Brazilian star to a stretch of periods with the mask.
Cesc Fabregas
In 2015, former Liverpool and Queens Park Rangers star Charlie Adam smashed Fabregas in the face with his forearm. Fabregas used a mask as he suffered a severe strain on the face after the clash.
Nemanja Matic
Nemanja Matic was part of the Blue’s title-winning squad in the 2014/15 Premier League season. He had a double fracture to the nose and had to use a mask.
Fernando Torres
The Spaniard and former Liverpool forward, who won the Europa League and subsequently the Champions League winner with Chelsea, suffered a broken nose in a game against Steaua Bucuresti in 2013. Torres used the mask for seven weeks after the incident.

Demba Ba suffered a broken nose in a Premier League clash between Chelsea and Newcastle in St James Park in 2013.
It was double jeopardy for the French and Senegalese star as Chelsea suffered a defeat too in the highly tense match.

Pedro picked up his facial injury against Arsenal in a pre-season friendly in 2019, making him join the list of Chelsea’s masked players.
Diego Costa
Diego Costa is the only player on the list that did not crash with an opponent player before sustaining the injury that led him to wear a mask.
Costa picked up his injury at Chelsea training ground, colliding with Fikayo Tomori, a then Chelsea Academy player.
Petr Cech
Stepping down recently from his advisory role at the club, Cech was one of Chelsea’s greatest shot-stoppers. After colliding with a Blackburn player in 2011, Cech had to use a mask throughout his career at Chelsea.

Next on the list is Paulo Ferreira. The Portuguese full-back and former Porto star had to settle for a protective mask after he collided with Former Tottenham star Gareth Bale in 2011.
Gary Cahil
Chelsea’s 2015 preseason match was a disaster for Cahil, who busted his nose in a game against Barcelona. He had to use a mask as the injury worsened in subsequent rounds of matches.
John Terry
The Chelsea legendary captain suffered a fractured cheekbone in 2007 when he clashed with American football star Clint Dempsey in a heated London Derby.

The former Chelsea player who is now plying his trade with Spanish giants Barcelona used a mask after he clashed with Manchester United’s Antony Martial in 2020.
Cesar Azpilicueta
Azpilicueta is another Chelsea star that had his face masked up at Chelsea at a point in the club. He suffered a cheekbone fracture after he wanted to head the ball with Crystal Palace Frazer Campbell ready to kick. Azpilicueta’s head met Campbell’s stuff leading to the injury.
Rudiger
The former Chelsea defender, now playing for Real Madrid, is also on the list. Rudiger had to use a mask after he clashed with Real Madrid’s Alvaro Odriozola.
