Youri Tielemans has admitted that conditions at Leicester, a team currently sitting at the bottom of the Premier League table, are “difficult.”

The Foxes have lost six straight games and have only one point from their first seven top-flight games.

The recent 5-2 and 6-2 losses away at Brighton and Tottenham, respectively, have put more pressure on manager Brendan Rodgers, who is already under fire.

Youri Tielemans has suggested that despite how “difficult” things are right now at the club, he does not regret remaining at Leicester City this summer.

Tielemans is now in the last year of his Leicester deal. It’s possible that they anticipated selling him throughout the last summer. Many people admired the midfielder, and some of them are now looking forward to the chance to sign him in 2023.

With an eye toward January or the summer, he has continued to be linked with Manchester United, Arsenal, and Newcastle. They are all currently in a better place than Leicester.

In fact, after seven games, Tielemans’ current team is in last place in the Premier League. They have failed to win any of them, earning only one point following an opening-day draw with Brentford.

Their most recent loss was a weekend 6-2 thrashing at the hands of Tottenham Hotspur. For them to refocus, the September international break has certainly come at a good time.

In Belgium’s matches against Wales and the Netherlands, Tielemans will be looking for a better experience. Following that, the business will resume with Leicester in October.

The 25-year-old is relieved to be able to leave his current club scenario for the time being.

“It’s difficult at Leicester right now, so I’m glad to get a little fresh air here [with Belgium],” Tielemans said.

“It’s obvious that things at the club are not going well. As a team, we are exerting every effort.”

It might have been better for Tielemans to pursue an exit in the summer given the current atmosphere at the King Power Stadium. He is currently confined there until the new year.

However, the former Monaco resident is reluctant to discuss the specifics. He explains why he doesn’t have to regret staying because he wants to see the other side of the story.

Tielemans has made 166 appearances for Leicester so far, contributing 25 goals and 25 assists.

From January, he would be free to commit to a pre-contractual arrangement with a foreign team. If no Premier League club is willing to pay for him in the winter, he might also wait until his contract expires before looking for another one.

Before this winter’s World Cup in Qatar, Tielemans is now focused on earning a spot on the Belgium team.

However, the Leicester midfielder claims it is challenging to ignore his club’s subpar domestic record while on international duty.
