When the discussion of the best defender in the premier league surfaced, many people think that Liverpool’s defender Virgil van Dijk should be crowned the best Center back defender for the 2019 – 2020 season. Vincent Kompany, Sergio Aguero, and Kevin De Bruyne all testified that Virgil van Dijk is the best defender in the league.
When talking about the best defender in the league, Sergio Aguero says Virgil van Dijk’s “long legs” make him a nightmare for forwards like him to face.
“What I like the most is the way he is so smart when defending. He’s not anxious when marking, he’s very careful and patient. That makes it difficult for many strikers. Aguero told Goal.
“In my case, I’m pretty fast and I like to dribble, so I need the defender to come. But if he holds he can wait for help from another defender. He’s very good at this.” He added

The former Manchester City player who is now in charge of a player-manager role at Anderlecht football club says that VVD is the best center back in the premier league.
When asked about the best CB in the league, Vincent said, “I would bring it back to Virgil van Dijk,” while speaking with SPORF.
“It’s a weird one because he hasn’t been on the scene for as long as these names we mentioned – John Terry, Rio Ferdinand, these guys were there for a long, long time.
“But the signs he showed in his last few years, just makes it so obvious that if he would’ve been at the top, top-level before that he would’ve been already further as well.
“From what I’ve seen in terms of having an impact on a team and a defender is never about himself, it’s about his communication with other guys and how you make your team more solid. ” Kompany told SPORF
“The Liverpool before Van Dijk and the one after him, it’s a completely different setup and I’ll give him that one because of that,” he added.
Van Dijk was asked about why he choose to play for Liverpool, here is what he said.
“Before I made the decision to choose Liverpool, I looked at all the aspects of the clubs; the way of playing, the team-mates, the future as well,” Van Dijk told BT Sport.
The Netherland star, Van Dijk, 28, has starred since his move from Southampton to Liverpool, for a reported £75 million ($93m), in January 2018
