Manchester United are in dire condition after losing two Premier League opening matches. Without mincing words with his perception of the Old Trafford club, Josh Hart decided to have a go at the Premier League club.

Josh Hart is a 27-year-old American basketball player who plays for Portland Trail Blazers in the NBA. Born on 1995 in Maryland to Moses and Pat Hart, the 1.96m-tall shooting guard was selected by Utah Jazz after finishing 30th overall in the 2017 NBA Draft.

Josh Hart started his NBA career with Los Angeles Lakers in 2017. He played for two years for the team.

Since then, Hart has had a stint with New Orleans Pelicans from 2019 to 2022 before joining his current team Portland Trail Blazers in 2022.

Josh Hart’s NBA stats are astonishing. He has won many awards during his years in the American basketball league. He has won the Big East Player of the Year Award and the Julius Erving Award in 2017. In 2016, Josh Hart emerged as the NCAA Champion. He has bagged six other awards in his basketball career.

Before he started his rosy basketball career, Josh Hart attended Wheaton and Sidwell Friends School for his high school and went to Villanova between 2013 and 2017 for his college education.

Apart from basketball, Josh Hart is a die-heart Chelsea fan. Hence, his negative comments on Manchester United are well understood by football enthusiasts.

“Manchester United is a small club now”, Josh Hart tweeted after Brentford demolished the Premier League club 4-0 last weekend.

Josh Hart sparked reactions from netizens after he called Manchester United a small club. The Red Devils have had a challenging start to the 2022-2023 Premier League season.

The new manager, Erik Ten Hag, has been at a loss after suffering two heavy defeats in two opening matches to the shock of Manchester United fans.

The 54-year-old former Ajax manager had a good preseason run but has stumbled in his first two competitive matches.

Res Devils lost 4-0 to Brentford

The Red Devils shocked the world when they broke a historic record by suffering a 2-1 defeat at home to Brighton and Hove Albion. The two winning goals came in the first half courtesy of Pascal Gross’ brace.

The Red Red Devils were expected to put up a better performance when they traveled to take on Brentford. It was a shocker instead. Brentford put the star-studded United team to rout with four quick goals, all coming in the first half of the game.

Again, it was a rout as Brentford had no mercy, rough-handling a Man United team in disarray. The game ended 4-0 in favor of the hosts. Unfortunately, their next game is against Liverpool.

Is Josh Hart right?

The Red Devils are indeed waddling in the muck of a difficult time. Two heavy defeats against minnows in the Premier League opener is a blistering sore too glaring to ignore.

It is evident of the rot in the team. However, despite their poor and shabby performance, the Red Devils are not a small club in England. They are giants with an intimidating record. Josh Hart’s verdict is not valid when the archives and records of the Premier League are perused.

Note that Manchester United have won a record 20 league titles, 12 FA Cups, five league cups, a record 21 Community Shields, three Champions League titles, one FIFA Club World Cup, and many other titles. All these titles cannot be found in the trophy cabinet of a small club.
