Gabriel Jesus was the man of the match in a 6-goal thriller between Arsenal and Leicester City at the Emirates Stadium as he scored a brace and provided one assist.

Arsenal were only able to convert 4 of their 7 total shots on target despite maintaining a 51% possession as against Leicester City’s 49% possession on Saturday afternoon.

Leicester City completed more passes (465) than the home team (460) in the match and had only one shot on target – which was converted clinically by James Madison.

Gabriel Jesus scored his first goal for the team as he made his home debut. The Brazilian controlled the ball while standing and curls an amazing shot over Ward.

During the game, the players had to take a drink break around the halfway stage because of the intense heat.

Afterward, the action returned to the pitch as Martinelli whipped in a corner in the 35th minute, Vardy unintentionally flicks it on at the far post, and Jesus was waiting there to head it in.

The former Manchester City striker made an impressive home debut which could go down as one of his best performances in this new season.

On the other end, the visitors didn’t go down without putting up a fight. Leicester received a penalty just before the break. Following a collision with Aaron Ramsdale, Vardy collapsed forcing the game to pause for a VAR check.

The referee went to the monitor and determined it wasn’t a penalty, so he called the penalty off. The decision ushered in a resounding noise at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal new signing, Jesus scored more goals without the need of a penalty today than Alex Lacazette did the entire previous campaign.

Despite leading Leicester City by two goals at the break, the Brazilian could have scored more goals had he taken advantage of most of his opportunities.

Both teams had solid possession and ball control in the opening minutes of the second half. Saliba tried to head the ball back to Ramsdale under pressure from Vardy but instead heads past his keeper and into the net. It counted as an own goal in favor of the visitors.

The Foxes conceded once more immediately after cutting the deficit. Ben Whites crossed the ball and it ended in the path of Xhaka who tapped it into the open net.

Arsenal believed they had a penalty in the 57th minute when Jesus was hauled down by Amartey. The striker received a kick to the shins, but the referee did not award a penalty, and the VAR agreed with the referee’s decision.

James Maddison’s shot from a tight angle that went through Ramsdale’s knees to make it 3:2 gave Leicester some optimism.

Arsenal did it again, exactly as it had done during the entire afternoon’s game. Arsenal went up the other end again and extended their lead shortly after conceding.

Martinelli initiated the move by winning the ball back and passing it to Jesus who recovered the ball and fired a left-footed shot into the bottom corner.

Two games, two triumphs, indeed, Arsenal have made a perfect start to the season.
