Luis Suarez could play for the same team as Giorgio Chiellini and Gareth Bale, whose shoulder he once bit, if the rumors about him joining Los Angeles FC are true.

The 35-year-old former striker of Liverpool and Barcelona is currently without a contract after his deal with Atletico Madrid expired.

Luis Suarez has acknowledged that he has had offers from five or six MLS clubs and is considering his options.

“The market in MLS is very complex. Some clubs want you, but they don’t have the slots, and so it would have to be for January,” Suárez told Radio Sport 890.

“Other teams are interested in you right away, but I need to determine whether they have a chance to make the playoffs.

“I’m not closing the door to anyone and I’ve listened to all the offers. But if some MLS teams don’t qualify for the playoffs, they end their season in the first week of October, and that’s not useful for me because I would stop for a month ahead of the World Cup, which wouldn’t be good for me.”

According to ESPN’s Taylor Twellman, LAFC is making a strong effort to sign Suarez, the Uruguayan nation’s all-time leading scorer. He is allegedly “closer than ever” to relocating to the city of Angels.

Suarez would team up with newly acquired superstar signings Carlos Vela and Gareth Bale to form arguably the best front three in MLS history, but he would also be on the same side as a player he had developed a close bond with.

Chiellini, a 37-year-old Juventus veteran, has joined LAFC for free using the Targeted Allocation Money option.

When Uruguay and Italy faced off in the World Cup group stage back in 2014, there was an altercation on the field.

Suarez bit a rival and left severe bite marks on Chiellini’s shoulder, not for the first time. He was given a four-month suspension from all football-related activities in addition to a nine-match international suspension, though this was eventually reduced.

Suarez believed his move to Barcelona would not go through because he failed to celebrate Diego Godin’s game-winning goal.

In contrast, Chiellini pardoned Suarez and stated in his autobiography that he had “always admired” him.

They were set to join Juventus as teammates in 2020, but Suarez lied on his citizenship test, preventing the deal.

Luis Suarez

As a striker for the Uruguayan national team, Luis Alberto Suárez Dáz (born 24 January 1987) is a professional football player from Uruguay. He is currently unemployed.

He is referred to as El Pistolero (the “Gunman”) and is renowned for his passing, goal-scoring, and ease with the ball.

One of the greatest strikers of all time and one of the best players of his period are both considered to be Suárez. Suárez has won the Pichichi Trophy, the Eredivisie Golden Boot, the Premier League Golden Boot, and two European Golden Shoes. For club and country, he has scored more than 500 goals in his career.
