Thomas Partey was not included in Arsenal’s squad that thrashed Bundesliga 2 side FC Nurnberg 5-3 in Germany on Friday, July 8, 2022. This confirmed the speculation that the midfielder did not travel with the Gunners for the preseason tour.

Since the news broke that a Premier League player in his late 20s was arrested on the suspicion of rape in North London, most football enthusiasts have been speculating that the player involved was Thomas Partey.

Futballnews had reported that another woman had alleged that the same Premier League player who has not been named raped her which means that two women are currently accusing the Premier League player of rape.

Due to Thomas Partey’s absence from Arsenal’s squad, the speculation that he might be the Premier League player that was arrested and is currently under investigation on suspicion of rape in London is gaining more ground.

However, recent reports claimed that Thomas Partey didn’t travel with Arsenal to Germany because he was suffering from an undisclosed injury.

But this claim is funny because when Thomas Party took to his Instagram page on June 29, 2022, he shared a picture of himself in a rigorous training session. In the caption, he wrote: “Back to training with the team!”

Ever since then, the 29-year-old Ghanaian midfielder had not shared anything on his Instagram page with 1 million followers. He has not also issued any statement to debunk or confirm the speculation linking him with the raging rape scandal.

In the same vein, the Arsenal football club had not said anything relating to the speculation as coach Mikel Arteta and his boys continue to enjoy their time in Germany in preparation for the 2022-2023 season.

Arsenal’s new signing, Gabriel Jesus started from the bench as Arsenal kicked off their pre-season tour in Germany against FC Nurnberg on Friday, July 8, 2022, with no Thomas Partey in the middle of the pack to supply the passings.

Coach Mikel Arteta introduced Gabriel Jesus into the game when Arsenal were losing to the Bundesliga two club.

In the 47th minute, the former Manchester City man scored for Arsenal to reduce the scoreline to 2-1. In the 54th minute, Mohamed Elneny equalized for the Gunners.

Two minutes later, Arsenal took the lead thanks to an own goal. As if that was not enough, Nurnberg conceded another own goal in the 63rd minute.

While in the 75th minute, Gabriel Jesus sealed Arsenal’s victory with his second goal of the match and for his Arsenal career. The game ended 5-3 in favor of the Premier League club.

What next?

After their tour in Germany, Arsenal will fly to the United States where they will play against Everton on July 17, Orlando City on July 21, and then face Chelsea in the Florida Cup final on July 23.

Tickets to watch all the aforementioned games are available on the club’s website.
