On Monday, the England international signed a six-year contract to leave his old team Leeds United.

City’s first payment of £45 million could increase with add-ons. City’s Darko Gyabi has also made a 180-degree turn in a £5 million transaction between Manchester City and Leeds United.

With club captain Fernandinho leaving at the conclusion of the previous season, Phillips is anticipated to play a significant role in Pep Guardiola’s squad. He will compete with Rodri for a starting position at City’s back line.

The 26-year-old offers the defending Premier League winners extra depth in midfield and can even be utilised further forward.

Kevin De Bruyne makes the most money at City, earning a staggering £400,000 each week.

Erling Haaland, a summer acquisition who was signed for £375,000 a week after a sensational transfer from Borussia Dortmund, is just below that.

See the salaries for the whole City team below, according to Salary Sport among other sources. Although there is currently no further information available online, it is important to keep in mind that Phil Foden probably does not make so little money.

They easily secured ninth place in 20/21, but Phillips struggled with injuries in the previous campaign while Leeds fought relegation. After defeating Brentford on the final day, they managed to survive.

“I think over the past few years at Leeds, I’ve done really well,” the England International told CityTV.

“Obviously, I got into the England squad as well and done really well there and I’m very appreciative of what I’ve done at Leeds and everyone I’ve been around.

“I just want to test myself on the next step with players who have an unbelievable work ethic and an unbelievable manager as well.

“The quality of the players City have got, the way that they play and the way that they pass the ball around is an unbelievable style of play.”

“It’s something I’ve always been attracted to.”
