Neymar has been linked to a move to the English Premier League and Thiago Silva of Chelsea stated that he can come to the club; in the same vein, Joelinton has revealed that the “No.10 shirt is there waiting for him” at Newcastle United.

The PSG player became the most expensive player in the world after he moved to Paris Saint-Germain for a record fee of €222 million (£200m/$262m) from Barcelona.

However, questions have been asked about his future with PSG and no direct answer has been given which is why he’s open to leaving the club this summer. Chelsea are currently the club interested in signing him but Brazilian striker Joelinton has admitted that Neymar could join him at Newcastle United.

Joelinton made this known during an interview with the Cast FC podcast and he said: “We can get him a spot, sure! In any team in the world. If he comes it will be. “I can’t explain it, the man is an idol, is huge in world soccer. So, the invitation is done. Ney, if you are listening to this, you can come. I’ll run for you all the time.

“If we have the chance I hope the coach will call him. The number 10 shirt is there waiting for him. I’ll send a message to Bruno. Bruno has his contact, he can send a message inviting Ney to play there.”

Although Joelinton is suggesting that Neymar could take the Newcastle No.10 jersey, it’s already occupied by talented French winger, Allan Saint-Maximin and he is not willing to relinquish it easily. Only a few football clubs in the world could afford to pay for Neymar’s transfer with his current contract and Newcastle United is one of them.

Newcastle United is owned by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) since October 2021. The multi-billion-dollar group bought the club for around £300m ($364m).

Getting funds to sign Neymar Jr won’t be a problem for Newcastle because Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) holds an 80% share in the North East franchise, making them one of the richest sports organizations on earth.

However, convincing the Brazilian to join them next season would be very difficult. The club is currently not one of the big clubs in the English Premier League or Champions League contenders. So joining them next season means Neymar won’t play in the UEFA Champions League or challenge for the English Premier League title.
