The fixtures for the 2022/23 Carabao Cup quarterfinal have been released after the round of 16 matches was rounded up. Here are all the fixtures.
Manchester United Vs Charlton
Manchester United will take on League One side Charlton at Old Trafford
Charlton is the only non-Premier League side left in the competition. They will be heading to Old Trafford after beating Premier League club Brighton on penalties at home in the fourth round.
Charlton’s manager, Anthony Hayes, is a boyhood fan of Manchester United, and it will be a dream to take on his favorite club, not as a player but as a manager.
Manchester United defeated Championship side Burnley 2-0 at home to reach the Carabao Cup quarterfinals. The team is currently 57 places above the Addicks on the league ladder.
Southampton Vs Manchester City
Eight-time winners Manchester City edged out Premier League rivals Liverpool in a five-goal thriller at Etihad to reach the Carabao Cup quarterfinals.
Ten minutes into the game, Erling Haaland, gave the home side the lead before Carvalho equalised for the Reds.
After settling for a first-half draw, Ryad Mahrez put Manchester City ahead in the second half before Salah equalised for the Reds again. Nathan Ake scored the winner for Manchester City in the 58th minute eliminating Liverpool from the competition.
Manchester City have been handed a trip to Southampton in the last eight.
Southampton knocked out League One side Lincoln in the fourth round and will be looking to stop City’s quest for a seventh Carabao Cup in 10 years.
Newcastle Vs Leicester City
Eddie Howe’s Newcastle has been in top shape this season in the Premier League. The Magpies have replicated the same form in the Carabao Cup after defeating Bournemouth at St James’ Park.
They will host Leicester City in the last eight of the competition as they continue their search for a first domestic trophy since 1955.
Leicester had the better of League One side MK Dons to reach the quarterfinals. They will face a tough task against the Magpies at St James Park in their bid to reach the last four.
Nottingham Forest Vs Wolves
The other last-eight tie sees Nottingham Forest and Wolves – who are both in the Premier League relegation zone – face each other at the City Ground.
Both sides defeated EFL oppositions in the fourth round as Forest won at Championship Blackburn while Wolves overcame League Two Gillingham at Molineux.
