Zlatan Ibrahimovic has affirmed his viability, insisting he is “still God” and “still number one” as he sets to return to action with AC Milan after nine months knee injury layoff.

The 41-year-old Swedish legendary forward has not made any appearance for the Rossoneri this season since he played against Sassuolo in May 2022.

After helping Milan to a Scudetto triumph in 2021-22, Zlatan underwent knee surgery last year May which forced him to the sidelines for virtually nine months.

AC Milan’s fans were delighted following the report that the Swede legendary striker Ibrahimovic has returned to squad training and now he is on the verge of returning to action for Milan.

The 41-year-old has given the club a boost as he vows to bounce Milan back from their disappointing start to the Italian champions they are.

The Swede star is close to fulfilling that promise when he boasts of his confidence and unflinching abilities in his exclusive interview with Sport Mediaset.

Zlatan said: “I’m still God, I’m still number one. Now let’s change the music when I get back. I want to do many things, after what I have lost in these months. I wasted time.”

Zlatan appears to be back with more vigor as he can’t wait to dig the Rossoneri out of the hole they find themselves in, sitting sixth in the Serie A, 18 points behind leagues toppers Napoli.

In this sense, the 41-year-old Milan forward admits he’s been criticized for long years for being the best among other top players and has warned haters to watch out for his refined superpowers.

He added: “It’s normal because if they don’t criticize you, you’re not at the top. They’ve been criticizing me for 25 years because I’m number 1, I’m used to it.”

“It’s like putting petrol on the fire and when you play with fire you get burnt. Do I still feel like God? Of course, nothing changes.”

Commenting on the various criticisms levied against him and portraying himself as the best ‘God’ implies he’s even better than the two legendary strikers that have ever graced the world of football, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

However, one can not call Zlatan’s claim a fallacy because every great player has a touch of uniqueness that separates one from another and that distinctive quality is what put you above others.

The 41-year-old Sweden icon Zlatan is famous for his acrobatic strikes and volleys, powerful long-range shots, and is also regarded as one of the greatest strikers of all time.

Ibra, who is regarded as the most decorated and active footballer in the world is also renowned for his rare brash personality.

Having won 34 trophies in his career, Zlatan has established himself as one of the distinguished footballers that have led by example on the pitch.

The Swede legend has scored over 570 career goals, including more than 500 club goals, and has scored in each of the last four decades.

Zlatan also has a shot at breaking into the top 20 of Italian football’s all-time goalscorers.

The AC Milan legendary forward currently has a total of 155 goals; a feat recorded between the three teams he has played for (Juventus, Inter, and Milan).

When he’s back into action, he would surpass another AC Milan great striker, former Rossoneri forward Filippo Inzaghi who had 157 goals.

Milan will host Torino in a Serie A clash today, February 10 and the Swedish striker announces he is ready for the upcoming clash tonight as he sets to break several international records even at his current age.

However, it’s not sure whether Zlatan will feature in the Serie A clash against Torino that will kick off at 8:45 pm tonight.

Finally, Ibrahimovic argued that his age is not anywhere a disadvantage to him, claiming his quality and physique remain active as he debunks rumors of retirement.

Zlatan said: “At 41 years old, I still have many pages to write also because quality does not disappear, the body changes, the physical preparation is different but quality does not go away, it remains. In my case, it doesn’t change.

“To those who don’t believe in god, I will show it on the field, not in words. I want to show my talent every day with great desire, not only individually. I want to transfer my credibility to others because if you can make a difference with the team, it’s different.”
