AC Milan have completed the signing of French midfielder Youssouf Fofana from Ligue 1 giant Monaco. The player was announced on Saturday, August 17, 2024, as the club’s new signing.
AC Milan released an official statement after Fofana was unveiled as the new player saying, “AC Milan is pleased to announce the signing of the permanent transfer of Youssouf Fofana from AS Monaco. The midfielder has signed a contract with the Rossoneri until June 30, 2028.”
Fofana is the fourth player the AC Milan board have signed this summer. The Italian giant, AC Milan, paid €25 million, including bonuses, to bring the French star to San Siro.
Fofana is expected to wear number 29 and will make his debut for the squad when AC Milan face Parma on Saturday, August 24, 2024.
Fofana made 175 appearances for Monaco in all competitions. He was able to find the back of the net on seven different occasions for the French Club.

The Press asked the new signing questions related to his desire to join the Serie A giant. The question also came with comparing the French star to Marcel Desailly who was formerly an AC Milan star.
A journalist asked him a question, saying, “Where did the strong desire to join Milan come from? And can you be like Marcel Desailly for Milan?”
He replied, saying “I’m grateful for the comparison. I don’t know if I can say it, but I have been in contact with Milan for a few years.”
“Before, it wasn’t possible to make the move; now it is. It was the right moment for me as well as the club. I’m arriving here at a time when I’m not too young, but not too old either. I have never played in the Champions League, so that will be exciting.”
