The Mexican was involved in a head collision with David Luiz during an Arsenal corner early in the Sunday Premier League clash. Both players were quickly attended to. While Luiz continued before being substituted in the first half, Jimenez was immediately taken to the hospital.
It was later revealed that he fractured his skull and it required a surgery, which went well.
Releasing his first statement after the procedure, the forward said he hopes to “return to the pitch soon”.
“Thanks for your support messages.
“I will be under observation and I hope to return to the pitch soon,” the 29-year-old striker wrote.
Wolves fans raise money for flag dedicated to Jimenez after fracturing his skull against Arsenal
As part of the love expressed towards his recovery, Wolves fans have so far raised £8,000 in two hours to crowdfund a giant flag dedicated to the striker.
The flag would cover seats in the Steve Bull Stand. They also decided that anything raised in addition to the £7,500 required for the flag will be donated to a charity of Jimenez’s choice.
Wolves have already received over 10,000 messages of support for the Mexican under 24 hours. This was discovered after their collation.
Jimenez appears to be stable as the club said he had “seen his partner Daniela” and would “remain under observation for a few days”.

The match witnessed ten minutes stoppage in order for Jimenez to receive the treatment being carried off the pitch on a stretcher. Luiz on the other hand played the remaining first half with blood seeping from his head bandage following the incident. This prompted further calls for concussion substitutes to be introduced in football.
Although protocols were followed as said by Arsenal, Alan Shearer who already had an article about dementia urged stakeholders of the game to wake up and do the needful.
Jimenez’ daughter can’t wait to see her dad
Meanwhile, Arya Jimenez, the daughter of the striker is already missing him.
On the Instagram page opened on her behalf, she wrote: “Daddy!!! My example, my favorite super hero and my prince charming !! I miss you a lot and I want to see you in the house to start a new adventure together !! I love you so much!”
In response from the hospital, the striker replied: “I love you and you are my engine to continue.”
It is hoped that the Mexican return home soon and continue his recovery.
