Since Liverpool football club won the Premier League, Brazilian attacking midfielder, Philippe Coutinho has been a topic of ridicule for most British media and fans of Liverpool. This has been so because he left Liverpool in 2018 to join Barcelona with the excuse that he wants to win titles.

To be fair to him, he has been at the club since 2013, scoring season out and season in but there was nothing to show for it. In fact, in his five years at the club, the attacking midfielder scored 41 goals in 152 appearances but no medal before Barcelona came calling.

“The magician” as he was fondly called by fans and teammates, signed for Barcelona for a club-record fee reportedly worth €160 million, making him the world’s second most expensive player. However, he was not able to impress the handlers of the club as he managed to score 13 goals in 52 appearances.

Hence, Philippe Coutinho was sent to Bayern Munich in 2019 on a season-long loan which will expire in few days time. So far at the German Bundesliga club, Coutinho has played 33 times, made 8 assists and has scored 9 goals.

Though his loan deal will expire on June 30th, his parent club which has been monitoring his progress is not showing sign of needing his service and are willing to sell him. But Bayern Munich is not ready to make his loan deal permanent. The 28-year-old Brazilian is still in the realm of uncertainty as at the time of publishing this report.

Besides his state of uncertainty, Coutinho who used to be a superstar player at Liverpool missed in the opportunity of being a UEFA Champions League winner a season after he left Liverpool. He also missed the opportunity of winning the UEFA Super Cup and the Prestigious FIFA Club World Cup.

To crown it up, on June 25, 2020, he missed out of the opportunity of being among the history-making squad that won Liverpool’s first Premier League title in 30 years.

In the other hand, probably if the Brazilian had not left the club, the club would not have won all those prestigious titles because the over €160 million Barcelona paid for his signature was used to acquire some stars that ended up being a game-changer for Liverpool like the club’s main defender Virgil van Dijk.

    Bayern Wins Bundesliga

Despite Philippe Coutinho not being able to establish himself at the two clubs he has played for since he left Liverpool, he can not be said to be a failure. In fact, he has been very successful in terms of domestic titles as he was part of the Bayern Munich team that won the 2019-2020 Bundesliga title.

Besides that, he has won the La Liga twice, Copa del Rey once, and Supercopa once with Barcelona. Hence, one can safely say Philippe Coutinho has only been a loser in terms of enjoying success in Europe like how Liverpool did in the 2018-2019 season.
