How Wilfred Zaha continues making progress Crystal Palace before 28th birthday
Zaha, who was born in Ivory Coast grew up in England from the age of four. He is now 28, but Zaha’s connection with the club began when he joined the club’s Academy at just 12-years- old.
He eventually rose through the ranks. He was rewarded for his hard work with his his first-team debut at the age of 17 in March, 2010, against Cardiff City – a month before signing a first professional contract.
He is now a Palace icon having left the club for a stint with Manchester United and he was unsuccessful before returning to Selhurst Park. His first senior goal came at the start of the following season when he scored against Leicester City. Coincidentally, the match was also his first start for the club.
He initially played for England in two non-competitive games in 2012. Coincidentally, it was Roy Hodgson that was in charge of the Three Lions then that handed him his debut as a substitute in the 3-2 defeat to Sweden. He eventually switched his allegiance to Ivory Coast, ahead of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations where he has become a mainstay.
Zaha’s stint at Manchester United
Zaha was signed up by Manchester United in January 2013 but was immediately loaned back for the remainder of the season which culminated in a victory over Watford in the play-off final. This was before his brace against Brighton & Hove Albion in the semi-final second leg that got Palace the promotion to the Premier League.
After failing to impress at Old Trafford, United eventually loaned him back to Palace and the deal was made permanent during the mid-season transfer window of 2015.
Since then, he has never looked back. He is the club’s best player, winning Player of the Season for three consecutive seasons as well as registering his best individual goals total of 10 in the 2018/19 campaign.
His return rate seemed to be high this season as he has already scored five goals in 8 games and created two assists. This bettered last season’s record of four goals in 38 games and three assists.
He has so far played 18 games for the Ivory Coast and scored 5 goals.
Wilfred Zaha personal relationships
Zaha is from a family of his eight siblings. They all moved to Thornton Heath in the London Borough of Croydon when he was aged four.
He graduated from Whitehorse Manor Junior School, Thornton Heath and Selsdon High School, Selsdon.
Zaha, who has a son, Leo from a previous relationship was also rumoured to have had an affair with former Manchester United manager’s daughter, Lauren Moyes during his time at Old Trafford. Under Moyes, Zaha only played twice in two years.
However, Zaha has been in a long-term relationship with Paige Bannister. According to reports, their relationship back in 2016, but everything started as an affair.
This was because Zaha was dating another girl by that time while Paige was also in a relationship with the footballer Kortney Hause, who is currently an Aston Villa player.
Paige is a 25-year-old lady born in Westminster, England, and studied at the University of Westminster. She graduated a couple of years ago.
Although she prefers keeping a low profile on social media, she is quite famous with almost 10K followers on Instagram.
She uploaded a picture with Zaha seven weeks ago showing her protruding tummy, having announced that they are expecting a child. It means baby is on the way. We can’t wait to congratulate Zaha for his second child.
