Chelsea football club is ready to part ways with N’Golo Kante, one of the most tested and trusted members of the club who has helped the Blues to win virtually everything in club football including the Premier League title and the UEFA Europa League.

Arguably, Kante is one of the least controversial superstars in world football. From his days in Leicester City until he left the club in 2016 after helping them to win the Premier League for the first time in their history, the FIFA World Cup-winning star has always allowed his job on the field of play to do the talking for him.

The only period the French international was involved in what could be termed controversial was when he refused to join the rest of Chelsea’s squad to train in May due to the fear of contracting the dreaded coronavirus pandemic.

Frank Lampard, manager of the side showed understanding with him and gave him time-off to think through the whole idea and to trust that the system can protect him from contracting the virus. The 29-year-old returned to training days after and all has been quiet about him.

Kante didn’t make any headline again for any reason until recently when the news went viral that Chelsea was ready to sell him to any club that is ready to pay an undisclosed asking price. The Times reported that the reason for this move is to use the money the club will generate from his sales to fund Kai Havertz’s move.

Kai Havertz is a 21-year-old German international that currently cost over £75 million. This season alone, the Bayern Leverkusen’s winger has scored 16 goals and has made 9 assists in 40 appearances in all competitions.

But the fans would wonder if his coming in should warrant sacrificing Kante who is arguably the best defensive midfielder in the Premier League and one of the best DMs in the world.

It is not only Kante that might be offloaded to give room for new arrivals – Tiemoue Bakayoko, Michy Batshuayi, Baba Rashman, Ross Barkley, Andreas Christensen and Jorginho are among Chelsea‘s stars that may reportedly leave the Stamford Bridge’s club this summer.
