Borussia Dortmund are keenly weighing a possible pursuit of Jadon Sancho, given the issues regarding the Englishman’s discipline.

Dortmund are reportedly stalling over approaching Manchester United to get Sancho’s services.

Jadon Sancho has been banished from the first team of the Red Devils, and he has been sent to train with the cadet teams of the club.

This came to the fore after Sancho claimed in a statement shared on X (formerly known as Twitter) that he had been made a scapegoat by manager Erik Ten Hag.

The England international has since deleted the statement but his future is currently in the balance, and he has also been banned from activities with the first team.

Reports have indicated that for him to return to the first team, he would have to apologize to Erik Ten Hag.

However, it appears Sancho isn’t ready to mend ties with Ten Hag, and both parties remain at loggerheads.

Several clubs are said to be monitoring the ongoing happenings regarding Jadon Sancho, and one of those clubs includes Borussia Dortmund.

Sancho joined Manchester United from the Black and Yellows on July 23, 2021, following a stellar spell in Germany.

The 23-year-old scored 50 goals and provided 64 assists in 137 appearances for Borussia Dortmund, having joined the club on August 31, 2017.

Despite his outstanding years at the club, it appears the Signal Iduna Park side have asterisks regarding re-signing Jadon Sancho.

Why are Borussia Dortmund worried about signing Jadon Sancho?

They are reportedly concerned about his off-the-field conduct and this is as far back as his time in Germany.

Their main worry is over the naptime that Sancho gets, given his alleged addiction to video games and spending late nights on his computer.

Additionally, Jadon Sancho used to turn up late for training, and that is also an issue that has also reared its ugly head at Manchester United.

Senior officials at Borussia Dortmund are concerned that a potential incoming of Sancho could have a detrimental effect on their squad.

There is also an issue regarding finance, as the Old Trafford club are requesting about €60 million to sanction a permanent sale of the Englishman.

It has also been reported that Manchester United do not want a loan move for Sancho, as they prefer that he exits the club permanently.

The Bundesliga runner-up are unwilling to part with the amount requested, but if they are certain about their interest in signing the 23-year-old, they will hold talks with Manchester United to reach a compromise.

Jadon Sancho joined Manchester United on July 23, 2021, from Borussia Dortmund for a fee of €85 million.

He has made 82 appearances for the Red Devils, scoring 12 goals and providing 5 assists across all competitions.

Borussia Dortmund nabbed Sancho from Manchester City on August 31, 2017, for a fee of €20.5 million.

The Englishman has reportedly been spoken to by his teammates, urging him to apologize to Erik Ten Hag, but he remains defiant to their counsel.
