Manchester United is reportedly set to make one of the club’s biggest summer transfer with United boss rumored to be planning to splurge £200m on transfers. United are currently in the process of rebuilding their squad with the right side of their attack still lacking. The Red Devils boss reportedly believes the right side will be covered in the summer with the signing of in-demand Italian winger Federico Chiesa.
The 22-year-old, however, will not come cheap as he is said to have a £60m pricetag and Fiorentina’s secret weapon. The Fiorentina academy graduate is the son of former Italy international, Lazio and Fiorentina striker Enrico Chiesa.
Following in his father’s footsteps, Federico joined the Fiorentina academy when he was ten years old. Thanks to his talented attacking tactics, the winger quickly progressed through the youth ranks. In the 2016/17 season, he was promoted to the first team making his debut on the opening day of the campaign. The Italian international contributed three goals and two assists in his first season as a first-team member in 17 appearances.
The following season saw the versatile winger only progress and improve his form. Federico finished the 2017/18 season with six goals and five assists in 35 starts for the Serie A. The much-talked-about talented youngster also made his senior debut for Italy’s national team in 2018. The young lad has made 17 senior appearances for Italy up to date and has one goal to his name which came during Italy’s 9-1 thrashing against Armenia in November of 2019.
The young, hungry player all too fits Ole Solskjaer profile at the club and will settle in just fine should they secure a move for the young lad. The Old Trafford boss believes Chiesa is one of the world’s most exciting young players and is said to be ready to drop any amount to get him over to Old Trafford. With news of Paul Pogba leaving in the summer for Real Madrid or Juventus, Chiesa will make a fine replacement for the club.
Meanwhile, United will travel to Goodison Park on Sunday to face Everton in their Premier League clash. The Red Devils are currently in fifth-place and will need a win to stand a chance of securing a place in the top four at the end of the season.
