As the race to secure the Coppa Italia draws near, Juventus have plans on not only securing the cup, but getting ready for next season’s trophies as well. Juventus are said to have their eyes fixed on winning not only the Italia cup, but the Champions League next season and in order to do this, some changes need to be made over the summer.

As Inter Milan have already started rebuilding their team with the signings of Lukaku, Sanchez, and of recent Eriksen and Moses, Juventus plan on imitating their rivals by making a few signings over the summer. Whispers have it, that Juventus will not only be seeking to buy Paul Pogba, but also, Reds superman, Virgil Van Dijk for a staggering £150million over the summer.

The Dutchman may find it hard to resist such an offer even if Liverpool wins all the titles this season. The amount reportedly is too lucrative to pass on. It will see the defender make twice the amount (£75m) he is currently making at Liverpool in a club-record fee when he joined from Southampton in January 2018.

Back when he joined Liverpool, he became the world’s most expensive defender. From the looks of things, the Italian giants want to make the Liverpool star the world’s most expensive defender for the second time. It is believed that the 28-year-old year old defender may be open to a possible move over the summer if Liverpool wins the title this season. This will add to their Champions league, FIFA Club World Cup and UEFA Super Cup accolades.

With having lured Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid, and allegedly on the move for Manchester United’s star, Paul Pogba, the Serie A club believes Van Dijk is the man to help complete the dream team package. With is package, possibly help them win the Champions League.

A Juve source said: “After winning a bagful of trophies with Liverpool, Juventus think he may be ready for a new challenge  at the end of the season especially as he’s been playing in the UK for a few years. And the club are actively planning to make a huge bid for him in the summer.”

VVD was part of the squad that help lead his country to runners up in the Nations League. He was also nominated for the Ballon d’or in which he emerged as the runner up after Barcelona’s Lionel Messi.

VVD was quoted to have said last week: “I’m 28 now and I want to fulfill every dream I ever had. Life can be short. Your career can be short as well.I’m enjoying playing with this team and this manager. We can’t look too far ahead. But right now, I’m enjoying it.”

While Barcelona are preparing for a world record of £142m for Liverpool midfielder, Philippe Coutinho, Juve will hope to top this by offering the Holland defender £8m more.

Van Dijk, who joined Liverpool from Southampton in January 2018, was the world’s most expensive defender at the time. Unfortunately, that record has now been beaten by Manchester United signing of Harry Maguire following a move from Leicester City to Old Trafford last summer.

Liverpool are currently unbeaten this season having already won 24 games and drawing one. They are currently on top of the Premier League table with 73 points and are hoping to surpass the “invincibles” 2003/04 record.
