West Ham United are reportedly considering a new bid for Manchester United’s out of favor, Harry Maguire.
The London club side led by David Moyes are ready to go for the 28-year-old England defender in January, according to reports.
Harry Maguire was close to moving away from Manchester United over the summer but later stayed with the club due to a disagreement between the two parties.
However, the former Leicester City player has declared that he will evaluate his choices over the coming year if he is still struggling for regular playing time.
Meanwhile, according to reports, West Ham United are eyeing a new method to secure Maguire’s service in January.
Speaking while on International duty, Harry Maguire explained why the move to the Hammers didn’t fall through during the summer transfer window.
He stated that the actual chance to go to the London club was because no deal was agreed between the Old Trafford outfit and himself.
Harry Maguire said; “It wasn’t just my chance to say, Yes, I’m going. It wasn’t agreed between both clubs so the actual opportunity wasn’t there because we didn’t get far enough down the line with it”.
He added; “I am not going to sit here all my life and play once a month and if it carries on I am sure myself and the club will sit down and have a chat about things”.
West Ham United tried as much as they could to land the 28-year-old player with a series of discussions with Man United over the summer but the former Leicester City defender eventually stayed at Manchester United to continue with the fight to reawaken his career under Erik ten Hag.
Maguire restated his intention to make a feat of his time at Old Trafford but after all, he has only managed to start just two matches during the team’s eleven games in all competitions so far this season.
According to an insider, West Ham United have been informed that a deal could be revived when the transfer window reopens in January, primarily given United are not required to stand in the way of the defender’s move.
Meanwhile, West Ham United head coach, David Moyes remains a strong admirer of Harry Maguire and a transfer could also be activated by the probability of the club’s center-back Kurt Zouma eyeing a move to the Middle East in January.
David Moyes made the French defender club leader following the departure of Declan Rice to Arsenal during the summer transfer window.
On the other hand, West Ham United are eager to tie the former Chelsea defender down to a new deal given his current contract with the club expires in the summer of 2025.
What’s next for West Ham United?
If the London club proceed with their pursuit of Harry Maguire, the England International defender may consider leaving Manchester United in January.
In addition, the former Leicester City player has recently informed Erik ten Hag that he’d love to play more games after the International break, therefore, if his request is not granted it will be easier for West Ham to sign their target.
