Premier League Club West Ham are set to sign highly-rated Palmeiras youngster Luis Guilherme for £20million.
Known for his pacey strides with the ball and incredible shooting skills, Guilherme emerged as a top target for the London outfit following his top-class performances for Palmeiras in the Brasiliero Serie A. The youngster plays mainly as a winger but can be deployed as a supporting striker with his brilliant shooting skills.
West Ham’s new manager Julen Lopetequi is hoping to add the promising forward to his attacking options as he sets out to helm affairs in the Hammers’ dugout.
According to reports, West Ham United will fork out as much as £20m to Palmeiras for the player with a deal set to be completed soon. Guilherme has reportedly given a nod to the move and is hopeful of opening a new chapter of his career in the Premier League.
The footballing sensation broke into Palmeiras first-team in April 2022 and has been a show-stopping performer for the Brazil elite division side.
On the international scene, the youngster has yet to make his senior career debut for the Selecao but was part of the Brazil U17 team that won the Montaigu Tournament in 2022 in France.
Hescored three sensational goals in his four matches for the Brazil contingent and caught the interest of top clubs in Europe following the sparkling performance.
West Ham football director Tim Steidten, who engineered the exit of David Moyes, is said to have been the frontman who spearheaded the move for Guilherme to bolster the squad.
Guilherme is the Hammers’ first signing since David Moyes left the club at the end of the 2023-24 campaign.
