Wesley Fofana criticized his former team Leicester, saying they made “false and deceptive comments” about him during his drawn-out transition.
On Wednesday, Fofana, 21, agreed to a seven-year contract with Chelsea.
Brendan Rodgers, the manager of Leicester, had said that the change had an impact on the “environment and stability” of Leicester City.
“Thanks to the managers, to the coach who has always appreciated me, even if he chose to expose me a lot lately,” Fofana said.
“I chose not to communicate during this transfer window despite all the criticism and all the often false and misleading comments, even when they were coming from the club,” Fofana continued.
“I understood and I learned. I didn’t want to damage the image of the institution and I chose to take it rather than answer.”
In August, Leicester’s Premier League matches against Southampton and Chelsea were played without the Frenchman due to reports of interest from Stamford Bridge.
Rodgers said this about the defender then: “A lot is happening behind the scenes, which I understand, and he wasn’t in the proper frame of mind to play. He’s having a hard time right now. He’s a decent child. While he’s been here, he’s been wonderful for us.”
Fofana was also not included in the Leicester team for their Carabao Cup victory over Stockport County, according to Rodgers, who claimed the player had missed practice.
The manager said: “These guys get well paid. You should at the very least show up. And if you don’t, you can’t just believe you can come into our group, with all due respect.
“But like I say, within day to day, he’s a good kid – it’s just been hard for him to deal with everything, and whilst he’s in that frame of mind, it’s been difficult for him to play.”
After injuring his leg last season, Fofana was limited to just seven games. He thanked everyone who had assisted in his recovery and stated that during his two seasons at Leicester, he “probably experienced the most stressful moments of my short football career.”
“There were ups and downs, but you can be sure that I never cheated,” he added.

Wesley Fofana, a French professional football player for Chelsea of the Premier League, was born on December 17, 2000.
Fofana was born in France’s Bouches-du-Rhône region in Marseille.
His mother is French and his father is Ivorian.
He was one of six children and began playing football with Repos Vitrolles at the age of six.
Fofana practices Islam. He was replaced on the hour mark of Leicester’s 3-0 victory over West Bromwich Albion on April 22, 2021, while Fofana was fasting for the month-long Islamic fast of Ramadan.
The following game, against Crystal Palace, was stopped after 30 minutes so Fofana and Cheikhou Kouyaté could drink some liquids to break their Ramadan fast.
